I'm interested in buying some meleluca products, but necessarily obtaining membership. Is it possible to share membership? and if so, are there any mommies out there who have membership and want to share? Thanks

What can I do next?

I have family members who have accounts. I always have them add my stuff to their order. I never would take on the time consuming job of trying to have a small business at this time. I love all the products and have very few issues with my allergies with them.

in regards to the message below about googling the word scam with Melaleuca you could do that with any company and find someone who isn't happy with them and wants to say it is a scam. If you have no firsthand experience you shouldn't comment. I have just started using the products and they have cleared up the rash on my childs skin. Also if you are smart enough to read through your literature you get when your membership kit arrives you will know how to cancel it. Also you do not have to be a preferred customer you can be a Direct but as a preferred there are a lot more benefits.http://valerielint.blogspot.com/

Hi. Just want to give you my 2 cents even though you didn't really ask me. Please be careful with this particular company. I have heard/read some real horror stories about people signing up for memberships and then not being able to get out of them. Something about them putting you on some automatic purchase plan/agreement you may not really want and then having your credit card charged month after month without your wanting it to be. Just be very careful. Google the company name with the word "scam" after it and see what you get. Good luck.

I am both a preferred customer and an independent marketing representative for Melaleuca and can tell you from experience that they are a great company and I love their products. The membership is not a scam but rather the instances the other poster mentioned are misinformation. Once you become a member, there is certain procedures for cancelling which you are told when you sign up or if you inquire. Those that have complained, did not follow send the proper written communication to do so.

If you decide to become a customer, the memebership is just $1 if you get started this month. If you want more information, message me. I would be happy to help.

**just a side note that this is NOT an MLM and there are no one "directly sells" their products as everyone orders directly from the company via telephone or online".

I am sure all the people who are in the MLM, direct selling of this product will be recruiting you.

Just BEWARE..... what is it really worth to you if you have to fight to cancel, get charges reversed, etc.

DO your research including the "scam" section before you get involved.

Sharing a membership would be hard unless you have a family member that would want to do it and then one of you would still be responsible for it. If you join Melaleuca and do not want to stay a member, you still have access to purchasing products. You have to pay retail when you shop but that is still a reasonable price compared to other products in the stores.

If you have ever had a Melaleuca presentation and you choose to shop from them first (over your Walmart and grocery store purchases) you would know that you would actually save money. Their products go soooo much further and are so much more effective that you don't have to spend your money twice...

Sorry, I know you asked if anyone wanted to share a membership but I use more than enough each month to keep three memberships going.... :) Sorry I can't help.

Hi there! Unfortunately, it's very, very hard to share a Melaleuca membership with someone, especially if you don't live in close proximity to each other.
I had a membership, and it got to be waaayyyy too much, so my mom started ordering with me, then my MIL, then my sister and a couple of friends. Plus then you have to figure out who owes what for shipping, and all that.

Melaleuca does make it very hard for you to cancel. Lynn said that if you have problems with cancelling, you didn't do it right, but that's unfortunately not true.
I went through their EXACT policy, and the cancellations dept. at the Melaleuca company evaded me. When I finally contacted them multiple times, they had 3 different people from their office try to talk me out of cancelling, and one woman even said "Whoever doesn't buy these superior products must be stupid!". Then they must have called some rep that was over me because a woman from my state that I had never met, called me and begged me to stay with the company. Sheesh!

Sorry for the rant! :) If you can't find someone in your area to split with you, would you mind telling me what types of products you are looking for? I switched all my personal and household products away from Melaleuca to natural things you can find in stores, online or even make yourself. I use www.vitacost.com to order some of my products since they are cheaper than buying at Whole Foods.

Good luck!

I used to have a melalueca membership. I also loved their products as Kimberley F. stated. When I tried to cancel, I also followed all of the written procedures, and found it almost impossible to cancel my membership. I just couldn't afford it anymore. Anyways, I finally just closed the account that I had the auto payment set up on. I had "shared" the acct. one month with my mom so she put that months payment on her credit card. When I cancelled my acct. so they could no longer charge me monthly, I got a call from my Dad asking me why there was a charge for melalueca on their credit card and did I authorize it. Of course I did not.....so he disputed it with his CC company and got the charges reversed. If you are planning to be a member long term, I think it is a great service, just beware when you need to cancel......

We were signed up with them for almosta year. Loved some of the products, but it became very expensive for us and we wound up buying stuff we really didn't need just so we could stay active. When we decided to stop using it, it was very difficult to cancel. Check Craigslist - I have found lots of products on there, and also a friend who was willing to purchase stuff for us. :-)

If there is a way to try samples of Melaleuca and of Shaklee, do that. Shaklee requires a 1 time membership but not a monthly order. Melaleuca requires a monthly order and unless you have a family large enough to support $50-60 worth of product per month, it won't work. The products are very good for both, but your budget will determine which works best.

The first two responses really don't paint a clear picture for you so here is my take on it.

I did sign up for the products, I liked the products. I almost never made my order in time and was always receiving whatever they were sending at the time. Which was fine. When I could no longer afford to have this additional bill it took forever, even following their "procedures" to make them stop charging my account and stop sending me products.

Ultimately, I just closed my account and was done with them but I still love the products I just really can't afford to use them any longer. Their laundry products were very good.

I hope this didn't add to the confusion.

To clarify a few things... you already know that Melaleuca is NOT a scam, they are a reputable company that has won numerous awards, this can be checked out at www.melaleucaawards.com . You can be a direct customer which means you can order as little or as much as you like, without the commitmnet each month. However, you will pay retail price which is 30-40% higher per product, you won't get the $100 in free products and can't get a commission check. There are people who will let friends/family order from their membership, but I don't recommend that anyone do it this way, it is too complicated to figure out shipping and the right costs to each other. It also doesn't benefit the person who has the membership, if anything, it complicates it.

I have been customer doing the business for 7 years now. My suggestion is to set up your membership, shop for a few months and see from that if you do spend $60-70 a month (total cost including shipping and taxes for a basic 35 point order). If then, you don't see you spending that much each month, you can switch to a direct customer without the commitment of the points. I wondered about the points in the beginning but what I found was the opposite, there are so many things we buy and use, that we do 70-100 points a month, we are a family of 5, so don't let the commitment scare you.

It is also easy to cancel if you need to, just follow the instructions on the website, the only thing about cancelling, is that you have to do so by the 25th of the month to take effect that same month. Feel free to PM me if you have questions.

Hi, I joined meleluca in December and am super happy with the products.
I would be willing to share if you like, but this month you can join for only $1.00 instead of the $28. membership fee. You can start with only purchasing 35 points and continue with 35 points each month. I live in west hills, so we are close if you wanted to share. You can contact me, I promise I won't try to sell you!, even though it is a fantastic company and amazing products.
