Meatloaf Sauce Recipe

My husband loves meatloaf tv dinners but hard to find ones with red sauce.
Sometimes it is orange like tomato soup and sometimes brown like gravy.
I haven't found meatloaf sauce sold in a jar like they sell spaghetti and pizza
sauce. Does anybody have a simple recipe that I can make for his tv dinners.
Thank you ever so much.

I love all the ideas so far. Please keep them coming. Yes, I have always made
meatloaf and I know it is easy, BUT, if dh wants to relieve me of cooking now
and then, I'm gonna encourage it. His favorite ZZ Top song, "if the sauce is not
too blue.." He sounds easy to please, doesn't he?

As Marilyn said, Hunts does have a meatloaf sauce you can buy. I just bought one yesterday at Target. I found it right by the Hunts tomatoes. You have to look good because it can easily be missed. I usually make my own with ketchup, brown suger and mustard, but I thought that I would give this a shot. Good luck!

My favorite meatloaf sauce is pretty easy... 2/3 cup ketchup, 1/3 cup brown sugar, and a squirt of mustard. (about 1 tsp.)

of course, this recipe is for an entire meatloaf recipe... You can probably make a smaller amount just by mixing one part brown sugar to two parts ketchup, with a small squirt of mustard...

Buy a jar of Hunts or Heinz Chili sauce. It's yummy for meatloaf.

You can buy meatloaf fix ins by Hunts I think. It has the green peppers, onions and seasoning in it. Just add bread crumbs and eggs and your done.

Easy homemade meatloaf: ground meat, basil, oregano, & 1 cup of marinara sauce, mix, form liaf, top with O. cup marinara sauce & bake.

I put ketchup & brown sugar as a sauce with regular meatloaf.

My favorite meatloaf is Cottage Meatloaf. The sauce is Ketchup, Brown Sugar, and Mustard. It's a really sweet tangy meatloaf.

You might also like making the sauce to Lion House Sweet and Sour Meatballs sometimes. It is one of my all time favorite meals. I make Oven Steamed Rice and some sort of colorful veggie like steamed yellow squash.

I cook the meatballs a few minutes then drain them before putting the sauce on them though. I also double the sauce recipe. I like it over the rice too when it is served.

You can use a can of tomato sauce with salt, pepper, onion, and garlic powder. Add a little beef or chicken broth to loosen it up. Let it simmer for about 15 - 20 minutes covered and it should be good to go. If you want to add more to it, do so, otherwise it should work.

Here is the recipe I like. She gives both the meatloaf and sauce recipe. (We don't use bacon in the meatloaf.)

I always top my meatloaf with:

1/2 C. Ketchup
5 T. brown sugar
1 - 2 T. Mustard.

Meatloaf is really easy. If you make it homemade it freezes well so you can slice it up and put individual servings in baggies and freeze separately. You can find any recipe you like and use the above topping instead of what the recipe calls for.

have you ever tried making it home made? Just put some hamburger in a dish, and I just pour in a little bit of all the condiments in my fridge (Not salad dressing or anything like that though). Put in some ketchup and BBQ sauce too and a couple of eggs and some oatmeal or crushed up crackers and bake it. Then I always squirt ketchup on top before baking, lots of it. We love it that way. Sorry I don't have any red sauce recipes for it, but thought I'd pass this along.

we put ketchup!!! um were not suppose too? i suppose there is some great recipe for tomatoe paste slightly thinned. but heres a twist you might enjoy. my brother makes the best hamburgers with egg, worshishire sause, perhaps a few other things i cannot remember and a lipton onion soup packet! while in the end his burgers are more a crossover of a meat ball they are the best. why not try that one night add a lipton onion soup packet. i also dont put any crumbs in mine because i dont want the added carbs. the eggs seem to hold everything together. great now i want meat loaf for brunch!
