What type/brand of mascara do you mamas like? I don't wear mascara much, but think I would probably wear it more if I could find one I liked. The last one I tried was Maybelline Falsies Volume Express....it is super clumpy and I feel like my eyelashes get yanked out when I wash it off. Would love to get some suggestions!

I use Maybelline, one is Colossal and the other is Full and Soft. I have found that the first use or 2 of most tubes of mascara does tend to clump so I use a napkin--less lint than toilet paper--to blot the brush a bit. After a couple of uses, it is usually fine. A friend swears by Loreal but I found it to be clumpy.

Also, if you wear more than one coat, go very light the second time and only do the tips.

Do you have a Sephora near you? If you do, go there and have them try a few on you. That way you can see if you like it before you buy it (they will use a new, disposable brush to put it on, so it's sanitary :). There's a big difference between volumizing mascaras (which tend to clump) and lengthening mascaras (which do not tend to clump). I really like Bare Minerals Flawless Definition mascara. The brush is easy to use, and it doesn't clump at all.

Dior show is the ultimate! But it's expensive. For drugstore brands, I like Loreal voluminous or power collagen, the maybelline falsies (try a new tube? Mine isn't clumpy at all!), maybelline colossal C. eyes, and I've heard of one recently called clump crusher? It migh have been rimmel, or cover girl?

I find that no matter what brand I use, I need to wipe the brush before applying, and then still I need to use a Q-tip to wipe underneath under my eyes where the lash tips leave spots. I buy Loreal brand but have used the plain Maybelline pink tube with green cap, and also Avon mascaras. I mostly try to find one with a straight brush (hate those curved ones) and a waterproof one. I use the CVS version of Neutrogena eye make up removed liquid that is 2 parts that you have to shake. I also sometimes buy the make up removed wipes. I need waterproof since my eyes water a lot and I don't want black tracks on my cheeks.

I always go to the experts at the cosmetic counters when I'm looking for a change. My new favorite store is ULTA because they offer the higher end products and the typical cover girl/loreal stuff side by side. I have a couple of employees that I trust and they will be very honest with me when I ask about the difference between quality in the two levels of products. They have sold me on some high end foundations and moisturizers, but they feel confident recommending maybelline mascara.
All that said, my current mascara is million lashes either by revlon or loreal. its in a gold tube and I know when it begins to clump it is time to replace.

My daughter uses collossal-- yellow tube and at Target about $8 and she swears by it.

I use Clinique High Impact.. the new one in the fat silver tube. I don't know how much it costs, probably about $20. I also use the Clinique primer (about $20) which is a conditioner, etc for my lashes.

Christian Dior makes a good mascara and primer as well. I checnge up every now and then between Dior and Clinique mascaras.

Good luck!

My preference is the one that washes off with normal soap and water. I believe Cover Girl makes one and it is in a purplish pink tube. Can't recall the name, that's how little I use/buy it. I like this one because I do not look like Alice Cooper after washing my face or showering.

I use Avon super shock or estee lauder. I have had horrible experience with ulta brand, maybelline, loreal. The Avon is my favorite because it doesnt clump and it washes off with my facial wash. I hate applying a bunch of chemicals to get mascara off!

I am never happy with any drugstore mascara. Pretty sure I have tried them all. One thing I am picky about is the brush. It has to be a full fluffy brush. Right now my fave mascara is the Sephora brand. Simple, not clumpy and not sticky. If you want another simple choice Laura Mercier has a great mascara too.

I use all Mary Kay facial cleansers, moisturizers and make-up. Their mascara is great. Their products are a little more expensive than what you would buy in a drug store; however in my opinion worth it!

Maybelline Great Lash.
Tried a ton. All price ranges.
Cannot beat it for about 5 bucks.
(Had the same experience with that Falsies variety!)

Cheap mascaras break off my lashes. I know some mamas say that they are all made or bat poop etc. But, to me, I can tell the difference.

I love cover girl lash blast, I was using chanel prior to being a stay at home mom and I have to say-this is just as good (if not better) for a lot less money! Good luck! :)

I like the Clinique high impact I got in my gift set when I bought foundation last summer. I also just got some Covergirl Clumpbusters and I love it! I don't have to look through mascara and eyelashes when I am trying to see. I say try them out and see what you like.

Personally I can't stand Mary Kay because it flakes in my eyes, but that is me and I am super sensitive. Good luck!!
