Who wouldn't want to stand in a field of falling marshmellows at least once in their life. GO. Do your own hunt at home with plastic eggs.
I was wondering if anyone has hear of/went to a Marshmallow Drop? They have one locally the day before Easter (they drop thousands of marshmallows from a helicopter onto a field for the kids to gather up and trade for candy). They call it an alternative to the traditional easter egg hunt. Our city also has an Easter Egg hunt the same day. I have a two year old and I'm trying to decide which one I'd like to do.

I've never heard of that before. Sound fun. Take him to both.
Our city has a Easter egg hunt (rather dash) where the rule is you can only pick on one egg at a time and then turn it in for candy and then you get to go get another one at a time so on and so forth. Unfortuately most of the parents disregard this rule and pick of lots of eggs for their children. (very annoying) I say let the kids work at their own speed and let them do it themselves. my little girls hardly get anything do to the fact of the other parents not following rules and we are. My point is he might not get much candy at one single event so take him to both.
Note we aren't going to our cities this year. It's too much of a competition. We are making our own and inviting over a couple of families in our neighborhood that has kids our kids ages. Under 5. Much more fun. 8-)
I would say at age 2 you might want to do the egg hunt and wait maybe a year or two for the marshmallow drop. Last year I took my kids to one for the first time and they had a blast but it was a little scary for me. We were at the front and the thought of them being knocked down by the people behind us made me nervous. They were 4 and 7 at the time, so I was morre worried about ym 4 year old (who is quite small for his age).
If you can find out if they doing the drop with the kids taking turns in age spegific groups, that would make it safer for your 2 year old.
I would check to see if either one of them are doing it in age increments. A 2 year old can get trampled in some of those city egg hunts. I know at the ones by us there are sometimes hundreds of children ranging in age from 2 or so up to 10 the ten year olds should no little kids are also looking for eggs but sometimes don't care lol. so you have a 10 year old with a basket overflowing with eggs and a 2 year old who didn't find any. just a thought. sometimes they have them for different ages.
