Lump near Elbow Still There After Almost 3 Weeks

About 3 weeks ago on my arm, just below my elbow, I seem to have been bitten by something (I never felt a bite, but I assume something must have bit me). Never itched or really hurt unless I leaned on it or touched it. after it happened initially, I had this lump that just kept getting bigger overnight and on the second day it was big, then slowly started to go down. But, I still have this small hard lump (which is how it started out as before it began to swell). It doesn't hurt. But it just feels real hard when I push on it to feel what it is. Not sure what to make of it. oh, and it's not red or even bruised. Almost like something is just under my skin. Weird. Not sure if I should go to the doctor or what. Like I said, it doesn't hurt, but, I just don't know why I still have this small lump. My doctor co-pay is $30 so I am leery about going and he tells me, 'oh, it will just go away', which is probably what he will say. Has anyone ever had or seen anything like this before?

What can I do next?

I had that once.
And yes, that "lump" was there for weeks.
I finally went to the Doctor to check it.
It was an infection.
It was what is called "Cellulitis."
I had to take an oral antibiotic. And THEN, it went away.
It was not going away on its own.
Mine was on my elbow too.
And there was no break in the skin of any kind.
You need to go to the Doctor.
And most of all, do not squeeze it or try to "pop" it.
That is what the Doc told me.
When I had that, it looked and felt just like how you describe yours.
I am not a Doc, but so you should go to the Doctor.

If you look up "what is Cellulitis," it will make you want to go to the Doctor to check your elbow.

Would you be happier if the doc told you that there was big trouble in having this lump? Of course not...

You don't not go to the doc because you think he might say "oh, it will just go away". You go because you need to know if you are okay.

Pay the $30 and get that elbow looked at...

It could be a swollen lymph node. There are nodes near the elbows. Very recently I went to the doctor because I had a firm, slightly swollen lump at the elbow and it turned out I had an infection in a tiny cut on one finger on the hand of that arm, and the swollen node was a reaction to the infection. Even if you do not have a cut etc. anywhere else, you could have some other form of infection going on, so please go immediately and get it checked out. I also agree that cellulitis is a possibility. Whatever it is -- please just pay the $30 and go!

I have the same thing by my elbow. Mine would get irritated when leaning my elbows on my desk at work. But now that I have been a stay-at-home mom, the bump is just a hard kernel-like thing under my skin. I couldn't afford to go to the doctor but after doing a bunch of research it looks like I've narrowed it down to a rheumatoid cyst.
