I had my second child a few months ago and I can't seem to loose the extra weight. I am still wearing maternity clothes. Its aweful. Is anyone else having the same problem? Maybe I need an online support system!! Anyone want to be my online weight loss buddy?

Hi H.,
Give yourself a little more time! I know you look at yourself and want the weight to disappear but of course, it will not. I began working out after my daughter stopped nursing which was after 4 months. I began walking and it became very fun. I started out walking a mile or 2 in the morning and/or evening and gradually changed my eating habits. I now walk 4-5 miles about 4 times a week with intervals of light jogging. It was kind of hard in the beginning but I utilized the Leslie Sansone DVD's, Walk Away the Pounds and I enjoyed it. When I could not get outside to walk I would put in a DVD and workout right at home. I know some people think that working out at home is not that motivating but it motivated me and I do not slack off just because no one is watching. It really is a great start! I wish you the best in your endeavors and stay encouraged we all struggle to change something.

Southbeach diet worked for me. It is healthy and curbs those cravings. If you have no time to work out you may want to take long walks with baby in tow or if you are working, walk during lunch. If you are nursing it may be that's what's keeping you from loosing weight. I noticed while I was nursing my babies I ate like I was still pregnant. If you are nursing you may not want to embark on any diets that may affect your milk...talk to a nutritionist and stay active.

First give yourself time. A few months is not a lot of time. I have had 4 kids. I found out after my 4th I had a thyroid problem. Your body goes haywire after having a baby. It took 9 months to put on the weight it will take at least that long. Depends on your age too. A 20 year old will have it easier than a 35 year old. Try eating healthy and walking with your kids outside. The weather is starting to improve so put the kids in the stroller and go for a walk. Don't be too hard on yourself. Being healthy is more important than being skinny.

DON"T STRESS.... it will come off ... actually stressing over will take longer.

I can help you but would have to get some detail such as eating habit, and what are you doing for excercise?

Dear H.,
I had the same trouble losing the baby weight after my second child. He is now 17 months.
I finally joined weight watchers and lost 11 pounds. It was easier than I thougt it would be. You can do the group meetings if that will help or join on line. I joined for 10 weeks.
I've not been doing good on it lately and my weight is stuck again...it's so frustrating!!!!! I never had to diet until now.
I live in the Avon, Ohio area where do you live?
If we live close by, maybe we could start working out together or going for walks etc... I stay at home with the kids. We have a treadmill, recumbant bike and some hand held weights in our basement. I also have a ton of workout video's. It's always been easier for me to workout with someone than alone. It keeps me on track.
If this interests you at all, let me know ____@____.com
Please feel free to e-mail me anytime you need support or just need to vent a little :)
Good luck to you...I know it's not an easy thing to do!!!!
Hang in there!!!!
