you need to go to child birth classes and you will meet some there also meet and greet pediatricians so you get a good one and they may have a support group. This way you are all in the same boat.
Currently I'm right about 6 months pregnant. I'm 29, live in Allen, and am a Christian. I'm looking for a group to get involved in that has other women at about the same stage of life. I have NO pregnant friends and very few people to share this exciting time in my life with. I've recently joined a group at my church, but they are all women who've already had children and not that this is a bad thing, but they are all very upper middle class. Again, nothing wrong with being upper middle class, but I'm looking for a more rounded group so I don't feel like I'm the only lower middle class mom-to-be there.

Hi L.! I am 27.5 weeks pregnant with my first child. He's due December 6th. I'm having a boy too! I live in Plano and most of my friends are 30 min-an hour away. Also, my husband works in Iraq, so it's just me. I would love to get together with you sometime! Shoot me an email if you're interested in going out to dinner or for ice cream or something sometime! My email is ____@____.com
L., congrats!!
I joined this awesome class called Square One for first time moms. My son is 16 months old and that group still meets weekly to play! We live all over the city but we all hit it off so well that we still get together. I hope you check it out!!
I have been in MOMS Connection at Chase Oaks Church in Plano for 5 years. There are plenty of first time moms and a good variety of ladies! The women are very open and down to Earth! I have made some awesome friends through MOMS. Also it's more affordable than the MOPS in my area. (I'm in Allen too.) :-)
We meet twice a month to share a brunch, listen to speaker, and have some great conversations. Many table groups meet outside of the meetings for mom's night outs or for play-dates with the kids.

Please check out this website and if you have any questions please feel free to message me!
You should check out our club! We are split into playgroups depending on when you're child is born so we do have a "baby" playgroup with moms who have recently had their little one or is about to have a little one. Most of our moms live in the Wylie area, but we do have moms from Royse City, Plano, Lucas, etc.
We'd love to meet you.

Friday morning at Greenville Oaks Church of Christ (on Greenville Ave between McDermott and Bethany) there is a bible study. There is an attended nursery. We do a Beth Moore study, this year it is Ester. It's the highlight of my week. Lots of mommies... Send me a message if you would like more info.
I met some nice moms in a prenatal exercise class offered through the Medical Center Plano. However, that was soon to be 15 yrs ago. I am still friends with some of the moms though.
Does your neighborhood have young families? Our neighborhood has a website and you can post a message on a board for sitter, car pool, social groups, etc.
I understand you wanting to be with someone more your age and going through this at the same time. When I was pregnant, I had a dear neighbor give birth about 6 months before me. We shared pregnancy stories, etc. We've both moved since then, built another home and she now has 3 children but the connection and routine playtime was great.
Congratulations to you! We will celebrate 21 yrs of marriage on New Years Eve. Our daughter was born on 12/27. Best wishes!!
The best club around is the Allen Early Childhood PTA! We specialize in Parent Education and Children activities for families with children between the ages of 0-5 years old. Lots of times our members join us with their first little one and then continue having children only to stay with us for 10+ years! You could join a playgroup with children who are new borns! I can think of one person who is pregnant right now, and others who have very young children and some who I know plan on having more children. We come from all kinds of backgrounds and are from all over Allen and surrounding cities. Check us out! Our first meeting of the year is September 11th (this Friday). Our PTA is celebrating 20 years of excellence, so we are having a birthday party! This is a great way to meet people and have fun! Check out our website at www.aecpta.com. Good Luck finding a group! :)C.
