Looking for Playgroups

I was wondering the same thing. We just moved here (Frisco) from California as well. Let me know if you find out anything. I have a 2 year old and a 10 month old. I did find out that the Dallas Arborteum has Mommy and Me Mondays. I went this past week and the kids and I enjoyed it!!

There is a MOPS group that meets here in McKinney at the First Baptist Church. There is also an organization called the Allen Early Childhood PTA in Allen that has lots of activities. If you can't find any info via internet on these let me know and I'll get you numbers.

If you are looking for a smaller group I would suggest getting into a child's class such as Kindermusik (they offer it through both the Allen and McKinney Parks and Rec's) or Gym such as Little Gym in Allen. Classes like these are a great way to meet other moms that have kids the same age to start your own little playgroup. That's the way we started our's for our older kids and we still get together 2+ years later!!

If you are intererested in exercise, you can join a seeMOMMYrun group. There are lots of groups. Our group meets in Allen and Plano MWF mornings, and Saturdays w/o the kids. We have some runners and some walkers. We exercise and then meet at the playground for the kids to play, and so we can visit. You can learn more at www.seemommyrun.com. Our group is goMOMgo.

Hi A.! Welcome to Texas! I am a member of the MOM's club here in McKinney and we do all kind's of stuff in addition to playgroups. There is a book club, mom's night out, and craft club to name a few. I am a new member of the group and love it so far.As a new stay at home mom it has helped a lot to make new friends that are in the same position as me. Hey A., I'm Kim from McKinney. I have a 4 year old little boy and a 7mo old little boy. Welcome to Texas!! I moved here from the bay area in 97. I grew up in Sonoma County. I belong to a play group that is based in plano but has moms from all over. It's really a great group of girls. It stays pretty small so you can actually get to know the people. We usually meet with the kiddos once or twice a week depending on schedules and plan a Mothers Night Out once a month. It's called Moms of Plano. I have a Yahoo! group called I-75 moms. Just go to Yahoo and search for it and you'll find it. It's a great group that's pretty active. There are several little ones the age of yours or close to it.
