Looking for Something to Do

I am looking for activities to do with my husband and 7 month old. I am determined to have a family outing this next weekend. My husband usually says that my daughter is too little and she won't remember it so we never go (plus we haven't had a weekend to ourselves since October). I know she won't remember but still think it would be fun to do something other than shop or stay home bored. Any suggestions? I live in Magnolia and want indoor and outdoor activities in case the weather isn't good. Thanks in advance for any ideas!

I just recently took my boys to Market Street in The Woodlands. There is a FREE trolley that rides around Market Street, the mall and a couple of other places. There is also a nice park next to the library called Towne Green it has a path on the right side that has large story books that you can read to your child. There is also a water taxi that goes along the river walk (you can catch along the river walk, but the best place is to pick it up at the mall in the outdoor mall part between PF Changs and Rockfish). It costs $5 for adults and is free for children under 2 (it is an all day pass). Whatever you end up doing have fun!

Have you thought about the drive-in? (in Tomball off 2920)We have 6 mo. old twin boys and that is an activity we can do as a family. If the weather is bad, we can stay in the car. If it is good weather, then, we can put out chairs and enjoy the weather outside. The boys don't watch the movie, but enjoy sitting with and looking around. I think that the drive-in is now only running on the weekends, but you can check at http://www.theshowboatdrivein.com. Hope this helps.

The Children's Museum downtown has a great area for kids under two and my sons both loved it. As she gets older it will get easier to find things to do. Good luck!

You and your husband are right, she won't remember it but that doesn't mean that you can't go somewhere anyway! How about going to Northshore Park in The Woodlands? Your daughter might enjoy seeing the ducks as you walk along the lakeshore. You could even bring a picnic lunch to enjoy. There's always the zoo or the aquarium downtown. Once she's a little bit older you can do the Children's Museum in The Woodlands Mall.

Good Luck,
K.
