Need to have my AC serviced/cleaned/recharged and need to find someone fast! Preferably w/in the near western suburbs. Do you know of any reputable firm who won't take advantage?? Have you dealt w/ a great service company that you can recommend? Please advise. Thanks!
Thanks to everyone who responded w/ service companies. I ended up getting a complete new A/C condenser/coil, furnace, humidifier & thermostat. Thankfully my boyfriend was home (who used to do HVAC way back when - yes, I know, why couldn't he do the work right??) so that I wasn't getting taken for a ride. But, my condenser was shot, it was the original furnace (over 30 yrs old) and the humidifier had rotted out years ago. So, now I am in a comfy, cozy home!! Thanks again everyone. The guy I used ended up being a referral from one of my co-workers, Bob Andersen in LaGrange, IL - great guy, very reliable, knows what he's doing and gave me a decent price (comparison shopped w/ other vendors). We used Emmanuel Brothers on Addison in Chicago. They were honest, efficent and we have been so happy. We had all sorts of quotes and the weirdest people coming over from other companies. We were really happy and feel they did the best job. We have actually called them for referals for other home projects because they were so good. I do not have phone number but I am sure you can find online or in phone book.
