"A Stitch In Time"?
"Threads United"?
"Strings Attached"?
"Thready Words"?
I dunno.. fun question to ponder, though! Let us know what you decide on, k? :)
I'm getting ready to leave the classroom, and start an embroidery/monogram business at my home. Does anyone have any cute ideas for a business name? As a teacher, I can usually come up with something creative, however I am stumped!
I'm loving all the ideas!

How about "Initial Offerings"?
The 'stitch up'?
I ended up with "sew much more" for my business (courtesy of the mom's here)...
I do window treatments/designs/alterations though...
best luck!
There are some cute ideas but a lot of them have been done before. Stitch Witchery is a well known product, for example, and others have used Stitch Witch. Same thing with the puns on Sewing (Sew Much Fun, etc.) - they've been done to death. You won't stand out, and you could actually get in trouble for using a trademarked name. The larger company can send a "cease and desist" letter, which you either have to fight (spending lots on legal fees against companies with deeper pockets than you) or you will have to just change your business name (which will set you back in terms of brochures, advertising, awareness and so on. Please do a search on any name you think you want to use and see if they are already in use. At best, an unoriginal name will confuse your customers and prospects.
If you have any money to spend, you can hire a branding or advertising professional to help you with this - do not just use a graphic artist as they may be able to make things look nice but they don't have the conceptual talent to come up with a whole lot of names. My husband's been in advertising and branding for years, and I can tell you that companies often spend a ton of money for this -- whenever he does this work, he spends a lot of time doing searches to see a) if the name is in use and b) if the name is available for a domain name (which you will need if you are going to have a website). Sometimes people own the domain name but are just holding it hoping to sell it (rather than using it themselves), and sometimes it can be affordable and other times it's outrageous! So do your homework to save yourself time, dollars and heartache.

I saw an ad the other day for the "Stitch Witch" in my area
As Diane B. said, it's not just a matter of coming up with a name, you need to do the work to determine if it is original before using a business name. When you register the name with your state for tax purposes, that process should also help you identify if the name is already in use.

The first thing that came to mind was "A stitch in time" (as I see someone already mentioned. How about "Stitched in time"?
