My daughter is turning two in about a month. I am trying to think of ideas for birthday gifts. what does your two year old daughter love to play with. Mine is pretty rowdy but likes ballerinas and beautiful dresses. Dress up clothes are already on my list. What other toys keep your 2 year old coming back time and again.

My daughters favorite gift when she was two was the BOX that one of her gifts came in. It was a big box. She liked to crawl through it and pretend it was her "house". That's probably not helpful to you at all, but of 15 years of birthday's, it's the only thing I really remember her ever getting excited about.

We gave our daughter a rocking horse for her 1st birthday, it was actually a little too big for her at that point, but she loved it and by the time that she was 1 1/2 - 2 she was climbing on and off by herself...and would ride it for hours and drag it all over the house....reading books to it and giving her dolls rides etc. We also gave her a driving simulator....(hubby has a race car) it was really cute, had an adjustable seat, steering wheel, gas and brake pedals, gear shifter and a little screen with a scroll of a road with curves and obstacles for her to steer around. She loved dressing up like a princess and all things girly too, so sometimes she would be a horseback riding or race car driving princess! Oh.....and the play kitchen,,,,stocked with groceries, the little tikes shopping cart, table and chairs and tea set.......all huge hits then......and almost still at age 7! If you get her a kitchen, you can "stock" it with play food and groceries..but the little boxes of cereal etc don't hold up for 2 days....we have supplemented her groceries from our kitchen.....yogurt cups & lids, the clear honey bear container, frosting tubs, butter tubs etc...they all hold up to the dishwasher except the label on the frosting,..might want to wash that one by hand. At different times of the year...yoplait has seasonal yogurt cups with the mix ins...so you can get Halloween, Christmas and Easter ones if you so choose! Such a fun age!

If you don't have a kitchen yet, I can't recommend it enough. They are so much fun and my 4 year old still plays with ours several times a week. Get some extra play food to go with it, since they usually don't come with much.

If you want to check out my Discovery Toys website, we have a couple of toys that I love for two year olds:
Castle Marbleworks
Block It
You can view these toys and more at http://www.discoverytoyslink.com/karenchao

Happy birthday to your daughter!

My daughter loves her "laptop" that we gave her for her second birthday. It teaches her numbers, letters, has games on it and keeps her entertained for hours, but it's also so educational. My daughter also loves drawing and coloring so art supplies might be an idea. Have you been on the Toys R Us website yet? I love their website for toy ideas because they sort out the toys by all different categories and one of them is age. That's what we did for our daughter's second birthday then read all the reviews that parents have posted on the website.
