DR. Alicia Lee @Northwestern Memorial Hospital- I loooove her! Very upfront, but warm. Getting an appointment can be a little crazy, but she's worth it.
If I was brave enough, I'd deliver in a birthing center or at home. I love the quality of care and the unobtrusive approach to childbirth. Most important to me is having my baby given to me immediately after delivery.
Since I don't like the pain, however, I want an epidural. Does anyone know a good ob/gyn that could help me have such a delivery? I live near Northwest Memorial

Hi! You may want to think about a midwife. They take the "medical" out of pregnancy and delivery and will give you an epidural if you would like. Most midwifeves will actually let you(if you want) pull the baby out yourself and bring the baby directly to your belly or breast.
I am currently pregnant with #2 and LOVE my midwife - she is out of UIC, but I bet there are some at Northwestern, too.
PLease let me know if you are interested in more info!

Hi P.,
I liked the Northwestern Memorial Physicians Group. The number is ###-###-####. It's an Obstetrics and Gynecology group with obgyn and midwifes. I liked the midwife group. You can discuss all the (natural) aspects of childbirth and also ask for epidural. You might even skip the epidural and go for a warm water bath birth since they have this facility in the hospital as well. Please feel free to ask more questions.

Hi P.
I used Scott Mosses out of NWM Hopsital. He was great and I liked his practice very much. Also, the nurse midwives in that practice are wonderful. Two that come highly recommended are Carol Hershfield and Amy Willetts-use my name if you want to M. Crowley
Hope it helps! Good Luck!
I have a wonderful ob/gyn at Northwestern - Dr. Elizabeth Walz-Busher. She has the best bedside manner, is not overbearing and I highly recommend her. She delivered both of my daughters providing me with epidural's both times. Her office # is 312/751-7515.
Good luck!!
Dr. Nye is a good ob/gyn. 625 North Michigan Ave., Suite 210 PH ###-###-####
Hi, I recently gave birth to a baby at Prentice and I highly recommend my ob-gyn, Susan Shaw. She's in a practice in the 680 N. Lake Shore Dr. building. With her my pregnancy was special every step of the way.I swear I thought I also saw tears in her eyes when we listened to my baby's first heartbeat. She is the sweetest, most capable person. She was actually not on call the day I delivered but someone else I really liked from the practice was there. Even though it was a difficult labor and they had to use forceps, they still put the baby right on my chest after she was delivered. It was great! And the epidural was a lifesaver. Good luck!!!
Women's Group of Northwestern is a great practice, ###-###-####.
Good luck!
