I am looking for German Speaking play-dates for my 3 year old son. I want him to start learning and speaking German as it is part of his heritage. My husband speaks German but doesn't speak German to him.
I also need to learn German so it will be a good habit for all of us.
I only know of one German school in Mountain View and right now we can't afford to take him to that school.
Also, if any one has any ideas on how to teach German to my son, It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
We could probably set something up. My husband and I both speak and read German but need to improve; we have some early reader books in German which might be helpful also. I don't want to spell everything out in public (who,what,when,where...) so please send me a private message through this site.
Hi T., I am German and have a 3.5 year old son myself. I do speak German to him but I am always looking for opportunities to show him that it is of value to learn and speak German. Where do you live? I would like to get together but will be pretty much limited to the weekends. Not sure if that would work.

You can go to singing circels or playdates. There are many.
Ther is also a German School in Menlo Park (www.gais.org) by the way.
They have openings in the preshool. It is a very good preschool, play based and tied to the IB curriculum of the school. On that campus is also a Satyrday School for adults and some moms teach german for adults as an offering at the school during the week, while the kids are in class.
