Which Seminole? Near Tampa or Near the pan handle?
Near Tampa, you can go see the Manatee, there was little museum there. And of course the Beaches.. Mederia, Indian Rocks, Lots of mini golf courses. Bush Gardens.
We are planning a trip to Florida to see my grandpa. He lives in Seminole, FL. Near Clearwater, Largo and St. Petersburg. My mom and I are going to drive and we are bringing my two kids. A 5 year old and a 7 month old. We aren't going to Disney without daddy, so what other fun things can we do while we are there?? Are there any smaller amusement parks or attractions for children within 30 miles or so? Thanks!

I'd highly recommend Busch Gardens as well as Lowry Park Zoo. Lots of beautiful beaches in the area too.
Mom,
THere is a great theme park with animals in Tampa called Busch Gardens which is fun and great for your 5 yr old. In Clearwater there is a fun huge reproduction "pirate ship" that used to be called Captain Nemo's, I believe . You can get tickets and it think boards on Clearwater Beach, near the round about off Gulf to Bay, I bet you can Google it for more info. It takes families out on a "pirate cruise" just off Clearwater Beach with staff in pirate costumes, kids love it. IF you go to Clearwater Beach go to the north beach there, it is more family friendly and has the pretty white sand beaches. Park near Rock-away st at Gulf to bay, there is metered parking there , with restrooms close and outdoor water rinse off stations. There is a really good beach casual seafood/burger/sandwich restaurant on that street that is quite popular with locals name Frenchies. Ask for a table outdoors it is on a deck on the beach and has beautful views of the water. THere is a smaller but fun, children's interactive science museum in St Pete that kids enjoy too . Another aweome children's museum that is much larger is called MOSI in Tampa, Museum of Science and Industry. It is o Busch Blvd. by USF campis and it's wonderful too for children. It has an IMAX theater inside also, but you only pay for the admission you want, museum alone will take a good couple of hrs to see it all. The museum and movie can get pricey and may be too uch for a 5 yr old together. You will have a great time in Tampa/ST Pete, it is so beautiful there and you know about the humidity and heat there being from TX. Have lots of fun.
Hi.. you might want to google "tampa with kids". It has a lot of suggestions on fun things to do in that area. Pass a grille (? on spelling) beach is a beautiful beach in that area that you may want to visit. Have fun on your trip--it is a long drive to Florida!
There's Bush Gardens in Tampa. It's a larger zoo/amusement park. There's a great kiddie area and of course all the animals.
The childrens museum in St Pete is called Great Explorations. It is a hands on interactive place that your 5 yo will definitely enjoy and I'm sure they have stuff for the younger one too. It's on 4th st n near a Carrabbas and a few other restaurants in the area that are pretty kid friendly. MOSI in Tampa is better for older kids but it should still be fun.
If you're in St Pete and looking for a decent playground. Crescent Lake park is nice. It's at about 8th st n and 22nd ave n.
Disney is fun but if you have someone else to help and go with you, I highly recommend it bcuz there are long lines and kids find lots of things to do at the same time.
Have fun! I hope this helps.
