O.K.
hi A.,
also a christian mommy. my family attends bellvue. i know it is big and can be somewhat intimidating but the people are so welcoming. they have all kinds of classes for you to join and meet more people.
I currently go to Hope Presbyterian, however I am a single mom of a 13 month old daughter looking for a new church home closer to where we live. I am not concerned about denomination - any are acceptable - but I do prefer praise and worship music. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!
Thanks!

my family and i attend Calvary Chapel in Bartlett. It is not a big church, but very loving and bible based. I have four year old triplets and they have enjoyed the child care there a great deal! C. H.
My family is catholic so we attend St.Louis chuurch on White Station. I love my church, everyone is super friendly and you can bring your kids to mass and no one minds if they are playing or making a little noise.
If Catholic is not the way for you. I went to Chrit United Methodist, on Poplar across from Oak Court, b4 getting married. It is nice.
i'm a bit biased, but i would suggest Forest Hill Community Church. Great teaching, women's ministry just starting up strong w/ dinners on the first Tuesday of the month during the summer & a wonderful children's ministry where your little girl will feel VERY loved & well taken care of!!! It's on Houston Levee, the white church down in the 'valley' looking area.... services are at 9 am & 10:30am. Hope you'll try!!
Our family is Presbyterian also and attended our home church in Whitehaven until it closed its doors over 2 years ago. My brother moved his membership to Germantown Presbyterian and enjoyed his time there. He began attending around 10 years ago and after our mother died he remained a member of the session and attended sporadically, but more and more attended the pretty white church on Germantown Road south of the RR tracks. The funeral service for him a couple of weeks ago was very touching although not depressing. My neice goes to 2nd Pres. on Poplar and likes the childrens' programs. Its a little late to be responding, but I just found this great group. I often have so many questions when I'm coming up there, so joined to ask my most recent question. These churches mentioned are all PCUS, I'm not familiar with any of the PCA churches in Memphis.
That is so wonderfull that you are raising your child as a christian and I am sure it is hard to do it as a single mother. I attend Forest Hill Community Church which is down Houston Levee. It is nondenominational and has a wonderful childrens program. Both services will give your child a story from the bible, a craft and wonderful music to dance and sing to. The services are super casual and it is a wonderful family environment. We have contempory services which are tons of fun. Love for you to visit and hopefully make it a new home.
We attend Central Church in Collierville near the intersection of Houston Levee and Winchester. We love it there and their 2nd hour service is contemporary, praise & worship. It is wonderful! We have been members almost 1 year and there is something for everyone there, including your precious little one.
Our 1st service is more traditional at 9:30 and the 2nd is contemporary at 11. Our website is www.centralchurch.com. Come by for a visit, we'd love to have you!!
