Looking for a Church to Call Home...

My husband and I have lived in St. Louis for quite a while now and we can't seem to find a home church to attend. We were going to Church on the Rock in O'Fallon, but the massive size and extent of the drive every Sunday has been a negative for us. I'm from a smaller church family originally and would love to find a place that has small group bible study, and men's and women's groups. Does anyone have any good non-denominational Spirit-filled church suggestions?? My husband and I really want to make some Christian friends in St. Louis.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

We ended up going to a Vineyard church this past Sunday and absolutely loved it! The worship was wonderful and I met some very friendly people. We'll be attending a home group this Wednesday through them as well. Thank you to everyone for your input and help in finding a church.

I know you said you found a church, but in case you're still "trying out" some others, we attend Webster Hills United Methodist in Webster Groves. It's actually 3 buildings, but a smaller congregation. They have 3 services a day, traditional, a short traditional, and a contemporary> They have lots of groups and great sunday school and bible study groups for kids, too. We've been going about a year off and on and have found it to be a very friendly church.

We attend Grace St. Louis on McKelvey. It is a very huge church but they have tons of little groups to join. They've got a great children's program.

I've been to Vineyard on Telegraph, and they are very friendly. You should visit there.

We found our church home recently at Sherwood Baptist Church in Webster. It is small and cozy. Not non-denominational, but Bible-based, and super friendly!

Hi R., Where in St. L area do you live? I attend church at Immanuel Lutheran in St. Charles (6th street) just a block away from the post office. If you would ever like to try it out, I'd be happy to show you around. There are two different services, one in the traditional church and one in the fellowship hall with the words projected on the screen. Great sunday school (with one for parents/infants), great adult bible studies, day school and terrific preachers.

Hi R.,

I know it's tough when you're looking for a new church. I attend Vineyard Christian Fellowship on Telegraph Road the Melville area. We have several different small groups with childcare available that meet weekly. There is one service on Sunday mornings at 10 am and we have free coffee and donuts beforehand. The people are down-to-earth and friendly and it's just a welcoming environment. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions!
