Your not alone, my son just turned four. I noticed early on that he was diffrent from other kids around age 2 and a half. Luckily there is hope. Children that are 2 can have Easter Seals come to your house and work with. However since he has turned three, I would stronly recommend to call you local school district and ask what schools offer a class for speach delay. In our area ( Alamo Heights) Howard learning center offers a very good program and from what I understand it is offered in every school district. You can prolly call Howard and ask for the register, explain your situation and find a school that has that program. (Howard ###-###-####). What happens is your kiddo goes to meet with, and after a few observations it is determined weather child needs services. The good news is that it is a free program given by school district. Morgan started showing a great improvment after two months. Normally Morgan is picked up by bus, goes in from 8-11am. Also if you think son might be autistic, would suggest seeing a developmental pedie' doc. Dr.Harkins ###-###-####)(there is another one Dr Fierro, but do not have his number,if you need I will look it up)specialises in children with autism. The sooner you get things rolling the beter, so the transition into school is smoother. If your son is diagnosed with this, it is good to know so that school with provide proper visual aids and learning tools to help him to better learn. Also Dr Rotienberg ( ###-###-####)is a wonderful Nero doctor, our youngest has a seizure disorder and may also be autist. ( we are going to New Bronfels to do testing). About the physologist dunno we have not done that, our insurance does not cover that. Please if you have any questions feel free to email me.
