Ah.. menopause.. another physical cross to bare..
I am in my early 50's and have been dealing with perimenopause forever..
You can give it another month and see how it goes.. Then go to the doctor..
I am 39 yrs old and I am currently 8 days late for my period. My period comes like clockwork on day 26 every month and I have been putting it in my calendar for years and I am never late. The most I've been late is a day for as long as I can remember. There is no chance Im pregnant bc I haven't had sex (husband was traveling, then I was traveling). I took a pg test anyway - negative. At first I thought maybe it was traveling - but I travel a lot and that has never affected it before. The only thing that has changed is that I started taking Evening Primrose for breast lumps - only 1 pill a day which is below the recommended dose.
I am extremely moody and emotional, but no sign of period! What can I do?
Finally started 9 days late. Thx for replies. I think it was the Evening Primrose, so does my Gyn. I guess it can delay ovulation.

Nothing but wait. Your body isn't a machine. It's subject to hormones and emotions that can change the chemistry of your system at any time. It's also not too early to start showing signs of perimenopause.
As we approach our 40's the occasional anovulatory cycle is not too unusual and can result in a missed period.
Because it is so out of the usual for you I might suggest to get a check up with your Gyn, just to be on the safe of things.
Good luck.
A quick Google search reveals that EPO affects each woman differently. For some, it reduces PMS and shortens periods. For others, periods completely stop. For a few, periods are longer. Yes, it is the EPO.

You can't "do" anything. It doesn't matter how regular you've been, or for how long, your body can and will change, especially at your age.
If you have serious problems or symptoms go see your doctor, otherwise welcome to your 40's!
The month before last, my period was 2 weeks late... After being punctual to the day for about 3 years.
It was weird. But not pregnant! Lol.
Welcome to peri-menopause!
Every so often you'll skip a period and once in awhile you'll have another period in 14 days.
Eventually you'll have a hot flash and/or a night sweat.
And it will very gradually get more unstable till your periods go away completely.
I've been at it almost 12 years now (I'm 51).
My last period was 139 days ago and if I go all the way to Apr 26, 2014 I'll be officially in menopause.
I think I'll want to celebrate!
It could be that you are starting early menopause. Call your OB/GYN for an appointment. There are birth control pills you can take that help keep this from coming on so strong. I took them for a year when I was in my very early 40's and they kept my periods normal for the most part.
When I stopped them I went months without one then would bleed for months. It was hard because I never knew from one month to the next if I could plan a beach vacation or if I'd need to stay out of the water or all the sharks in the ocean would come to see me...lol.
You are 39 years old. You are about to go into your 40s and your body does weird things. You could be beginning the peri menopausal thing. (Sorry about spelling). Your body systems change and mood swings set in.
Being you started our period later than most girls it could be adjusting to current changes in our world.
The only thing you can do is wait and see what happens. You may have one or you may start to skip months or you may just stop and be done. Your body's functions were set at time of conception so you may be the odd one out here.
Keep us posted.

Welcome to menopause?
I didn't think I'd start until my 60s either.
Never say never. Your body has to change sometime, and maybe this is the time. You've been traveling, you and your husband have been apart, maybe you're stressed. You've also added in a supplement of a single nutrient - if you think it's going to help with breast lumps which are often hormonally affected, you're changing your body's hormonal responses! A single nutrient is rarely fully effective, and I'm guessing what you're taking is not patented or even necessarily made in the US, so you really don't know what's in it. It's certainly enough to throw things off even if you are taking less than what the label says you can take, and there can be fillers and other additives that have an effect. I had fibrocystic breast lumps for many years so I know how frustrating they are, so I don't blame you for wanting to try something that might reduce them in number or size or sensitivity. But I think it's interesting you have had such a sudden change in your cycles. Could be the stress, the age, the traveling but don't dismiss the supplement as a possible cause as well. In my work, I've seen those types of reactions to all kinds of single-nutrient regimens.
The moodiness can be a sign of hormones building up which may mean your period will start soon. FYI if you're late, the period can be heavier than normal with more cramping. Oh good, I know - you're really looking forward to this!
Stress can cause issues with your cycle along with many other reasons. I would continue to keep track and see if you are going thru an over all change or going thru another kind of health issue.
