Is anyone familiar with thyroid tests and their values? I have tried to look up info online but it seems that the dr. that ordered my labs seemed to have forgotten to test one of the main markers for checking the thyroid (the T7). This was an urgent care that ordered them and they are refusing to interpret the results for me, they said to just go see my primary doc (which I am going to but my appt is not for 3 weeks). So I asked them to at least give me a copy of the labs so that I could try to figure it out myself since they wont! My "free t4" is normal, my "tsh" is normal, but my "total t3" is low and "t3 uptake" is high. Everything that I read seems to indicate that these last two numbers being out of whack like this should also imply the t4 being out of range also. Anyone with experience with this test have any thoughts? Thanks!

What can I do next?

They really need to be read by a Dr. & explained to you.I just had mine read & i'm ok.The Thyroid is an important function to our body & how it regulates our bodies if it is to high or to low there are medications to help or if it has a disease such as Graves there are other intensive options.Since they are not willing to interpret the results for you I wuld not use them again in the future

Do you have a primary care physician? I would ask the results to be sent to your primary care doctor so that they can explain it to you.

I'm a Nurse, and I write lab requests often and have never seen the value or check list to even get the level of a "T7". Your lab sheet with the results SHOULD have a column with the normal ranges next to your result.

Google your T3 uptake and Total T3 results and see what you get. To me, without seeing anything or looking up anything, sounds like your thyroid may be a bit sluggish, but not hypo.
