Ks So Much for All Your Thoughts!!

Just wondering if anyone sells Thirtyone products? I have a friend that sells it so she would be my "contact", but I was hoping to get an outside opinion on whether it's worth the time/investment. I already had a party so I won't be able to hold my own to make my initial "requirement." Will this be a problem for me? Anyone make any sales just through the website without hosting parties? Thanks so much for your thoughts!

What can I do next?

thru the years, I have found....that once you make it thru your circle of friends/family....the job is over unless you're willing to really work at it by attending women's shows, fairs, etc.

So your initial success rests upon the shoulders of your closest friends & family. What's your opinion of relying on them? That's a good starting point in any venture such as this.

& yes, I do have a few friends who sell....Beauticontrol, 31 Bags, Pampered Chef....& few others. They all maxed out within 2 years, & have either backed out....or take it for what it's worth. Good Luck to you!

I sell Thirty One. My one year anniversary with the company is next month. I had held several parties for another consultant before joining. I still held an 'Open House' type party and sold $500 worth of product. My highest month was April, where I had $1700 in sales.

Thirty One is not my full time job, nor do I want it to be. I signed up because I love their products and was actually being asked to help other consultants run parties because I had more of the product than they did and knew more about the products!

The potential to make money is there. There are several on my team (above me) that make $1000+ per month. But they work hard at it. I am not one to recruit or push for parties. If people want to hold a party, great! If not, great!

Like anything else, it requires dedication and hard work to really make money. As I said, I'm not really in it to make a living. I'm in it to make a little extra and to have an excuse to get out of the house.

I will say, the support and encouragement you will get, all the way up to the 'home office' is phenomenal! I've never felt 'on my own' or pressured to sell a set amount. I don't have another direct sales experience to relate to, but that aspect of Thirty One is pretty awesome.

If nothing else, the start up cost is $99, which buys you awesome products that are yours to keep!

I hope that helps and Good luck with whatever you decide!

i agree with Sue H, everyone i have known who has sold 31 bags or similar, (Avon, Pampered Chef, etc), only lasts a year or two. as she said, you tap out friends and family and then it's a lot more work than reward, and not worth it. sorry i don't have an answer to your specific question, but most people i know who have done this stuff gave it up pretty quickly.

I'm not familiar with the brand or products - However, some of these "multilevel marketing" schemes are actually "pyramid" schemes which are illegal in some states. Pyramid schemes usually require some money up front with nothing in return. So many people drop out of them that the products end up being a "smokescreen" just to collect the initial fees on the part of the parent company.

You're better off getting a part time job - really, the drop out rate is quite high on most of these.

I'm not familiar with 31 other than knowing it is an MLM much like Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, etc.

Are you a hard core high pressure salesperson?

The time will come when all of your friends, neighbors and whomever else you target will have enough of the product, be tired of you asking for more orders, etc.

I've seen people run friends off because of MLM's, direct sales and pyramids. Just be fully aware of what you are getting into. Your " friend" needs to recruit so many people do she can make money. You would be expected to do the same.

For me, I hate parties and when I get an invitation, I view it as an invoice ( obligation) to buy something.

Good luck if you choose to do it.

Curious to hear about their plan. I am with Pampered Chef. I have purchased 31 as an outside order - thought the prices were high. Check out to see if they are part of the DSA. That is the Direct Selling Association. The DSA has a level of ethics that they must adhere to in business.
I have been with Pampered Chef for over 20 years. I have many regular hosts and customers who love the products. Everyone cooks and you can make good money in this business. We are a MLM - not a pyramid. You don't make money if you don't sell products. Our focus is not only about recruiting. Make sure that is true with 31 too!
I have never run out of hosts or customers. Everyone cooks and loves our products. Now all of our son's friends are getting married - so we are starting their kitchen off with Pampered Chef.

I typed a long answer, but it vanished...so, here it is again (a little shorter this time)....

I have been with Thirty-One for 18 months. It has been a great experience. Everyone has a different reason for getting involved. I am a SAHM and my husband deployed last year. I wanted something to get me out of the house a few times a month and have adult interaction. Thirty-One did just that! The products truly sell themselves!

The company is fantastic! They are so generous with consultants. Last year I earned a $1000 Best Buy Gift Card (Love my iPad!). They also do sales incentives throughout the year to earn free products. For example, if you had $500 in sales from April 1-15, you earned a 4-piece summer kit (over $100 in product). If you had $1000 in sales, you earned an 8-piece kit. I had 1 party and earned the 4-piece kit.

Every other month they offer Celebrate & Connect Meetings. They are free local meetings that offer training and camaraderie with other 31 ladies! You always get a free product for attending (and, it's nice---like an Organizing Utility Tote in a new print--$30 value). The name "Thirty-One" comes from Proverbs 31--and that is the company motto--celebrate, encourage, and reward women! The training, support, and rewards are second to none!

Now that my husband is home, I have slowed down a bit. I still enjoy having 1-2 parties a month and I love the discount (I give 31 gifts to everyone!).

If you have any questions, please PM me. I will answer honestly. Oh, and you can attend a C&C meeting with your friend before you sign up! The next one is mid-August.

I do and it has been soooooo easy! I got into it because I love bags and wanted to see where it would go. I do not work at getting people to have parties and they seem to just fall into my lap. Where I live it is still pretty new and lots of people are interested. I don't intend for it to be my only source of income but it is definetly nice. I saw what several others said about working through your close network and then it stifling out... I don't forsee that happening with 31. Everyone will always need bags. They change 3 times a year with really cute additions. And they are very cost effective! People always want to add to their collections for organization or whatever at home.

Like I said... I am not one to push parties or be a super saleswoman! The product sells itself. If I stop seeing the flow then I won't work at it anymore and I have a great set of bags!

The home office has been fantastic and supportive. They speak to me by name when I call and work with me as I navigate through their site.

I don't have to have a certain number of people under me to maintain my status. The more I get the more I could potentially make but this is not the focus!

I would be happy to answer any questions... just send me a message!
