:) Both got a thumbs up in the tech article I just read. I'm leaning towards a kindle fire myself...
Don't think you can go wrong with either!
Hi Mama's!
Just wanted to see which one you had and what are your likes and dislikes about it??
Thanks for your input.
Happy Holidays!! :)

We have an iPad and my 7 year old really likes it. We did not want to spend the same $$ to get him his own, so we decided on the Kindle Fire HD. Hubby did all the research and decided that was the best fit. I know he chose the HD over the regular Fire because of its video/picture capabilities. I think it really depends on what you're going to use it for. My son wants to download books, movies, and games. He also wants to be able to take videos and pictures.
I have a Nook. My husband picked it out (an anniversary present after we decided no gifts, but that's a whole 'nother story!) and he told me he got the Nook because of the backlighting.
So now I can read outside while throwing the tennis ball for the dogs in very dim light, read in bed without disturbing anyone, etc. Not a feature I would have focused on, but now I wouldn't consider a device without it.
Good luck.
I received a Kindle Fire last year for Christmas and it is the best gift ever. I would say Kindle.
I cannot WAIT to get my Kindle Fire. HOWever, I've honestly heard better things about the last generation than the new HD ones, so I'm not sure if I'm going to splurge on that or not...but I'm buying myself one for Christmas!!! I've saved up my Amazon gift cards and almost have enough.
I don't know anything about a Nook, so I can't compare, but I have several friends with the Fire and they all love them.
Try the search feature and you should get TONS of advice on these. Lots of people have asked similar questions and there is tons of information on this site for it.
We have Kindle's in our house. My 3 kids have the Kindle Fire's and I have a 3G Kindle. I only want mine for reading, the kids use theirs for reading, gaming, movies, etc.
My mom gave my daughter a Nook two years ago and the darn thing never worked. Customer service was AWFUL and so it was a waste of $200.
My vote is Kindle.
