Just for Fun--if You Saw/read "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"

I just read the first and second books and loved them!!! How about you? And my real question is, was there one of the girls that you could relate to or liked the best? I haven't seen the movies yet but from the first book, I could relate to Bridget the most. She was the soccer player whose mom had committed suicide. Which girl was your favorite?

What can I do next?

I loved this serious- it's been so long since I read them though! Have you seen the movies?? I bawled in the first one and the second one is really good!! I could relate to the in general feeling of growing up and wanting to keep close friendships flourishing. I need to read these again!

I read the books, but it's been a good long while. I only saw the first movie & wasn't crazy about it because as so often happens, the ideas you have for the characters don't usually match up on the big screen. For instance, I did not care for the Greek boyfriend, Costos or something like that, at all in the movie, but I loved him in the first book.

If you loved these you should check out the Ya-ya books. They're very good also about women in their 50's & 60's, but spanning over their entire lifetimes. THAT movie I did love because Sandra Bullock did such a great job as the daughter.

I read them with our daughter while she was in high school.

I think I am a combo of both Tibby and Carmen. I am a take charge person, but my parents divorce had a huge impact n me. I was always trying to be the "best" so they would not have to worry about me, but I also am a confident person that usually never cares about what others think.

The movies are ok now that you have read the books, but there is never a way to make a movie as good as a book, because our own imaginations are so much better.

I agree with Melissa J.
You should read some of Rebecca Wells books. Her characters are like grown up versions of the traveling pants girls.
Her "Ya, Ya" books are good and I read her book

I read the book years ago but haven't seen the movie (yet!) Loved the book! I honestly cannot remember individual characters since it's been so long but I do remember how different they all were but still friends. I liked it because that's how my friends and I are. Different in so many ways and yet still great friends.

Loved all the books. I think there's 4 of them. I liked the movies but they combined the books into them.

I never read the books but did see the movies. I liked the 2nd one better than the first. I identify with all of the girls in some way. Carmen because I'm overweight and because she feels the same way about friends I do, Tibby because she's a little bit different, Bridget because she lost her mom and she's daring and flirty, and Lena because she doesn't trust guys and because she's introverted and family oriented. Fun question!
