When donating new books to your child's classroom, do you write "To _____ class, From "insert child's name here" ? Or is it better to leave them blank on the inside?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I had bought some books for my son's class to enjoy. I think if I wrote it, it teaches my son about a little about "giving"--just going through that extra step. Kids are usually so generous and kind anyway--
Or if in a few years, the teacher opens the book and sees my sons first name and last initial, she may think of him. :-)

Either way is fine.
I taught first grade for many years and love that my classroom library was full of books that once belonged to students. It also brought up cute little conversations in years to come, when new students noticed the names of old students, which also sparked new donations because they wanted their name in a book on my shelf.

Aww...I love those little stickers, or acknowledgment of who donated. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy, when I see the books are donated. I think you should write it on there...if that's what you want to do.

Ask the teacher which she prefers. In my granddaughter's school, students have the ability to donate new books to the classroom thru the Book Faire. For this they are given a sticker on which they put the teacher's name and their own name.

I've seen either, or. I personally think it's cute to say 'To [insert school name], Love [child's name]... But it's fine either way!!

It is fine to write a little something, but teachers can change classrooms or grades, so I would make sure that you put to Mr/Ms. Teacher's Class instead of To Room number class (I am not sure which you meant)

I just donated some on Monday. I NEVER thought to do that.

If my son saw his name he would try to bring the books back home. I bought double of the books I ordered and he kept smuggling them back home.
