Hi J.,
Those are common signs of diabetes. Your blood sugar could be low. I had gestational diabetes and it stayed with me after my son was born. Constant thirst, irritability, shakiness, are all signs of diabetes. Drink lots of water, try to eat small meals 5 times a day, (that's what I had to do), and if you find that you have these symptoms again, drink some orange juice. That will help your blood sugar come back up. Or a piece of hard candy is good. But the main thing is, is to keep eating your meals. Please advise your doctor about how you're not able to tollerate some foods right now and ask what is the best thing for you to do. Since you are showing these signs, I would call your doctor back and talk to the nurse, let her know that your appointment isn't for two more weeks, but you would like some advice now because you're concerned that you might be diabetic and tell her the symptoms you're having. Also, tell her that you don't want your body to go into a diabetic shock, which it will if your blood sugar gets too low and you're already showing signs of it being low, and ask if there is any chance you can get in sooner to see the doctor. Diabetes can be controlled, but if it gets out of hand, it could be life threatening. What insurance do you have? If you have United Health Care, let me know asap and I can give you the number to my diabetes nurse that I talk with. Email ____@____.com
Take care,
G.
