M.P.
I'll go get a large vanilla cone from Foster's Freeze on my lunch break instead of actually getting a meal..... not every day, but probably once a week! LOL oh yummmy - today may end up being one of those days now.....
I often end up having dessert first for lunch...I know...not the healthiest of eating choices, but life's too precious to not indulge now and then. ;)
thankfully, I have a medium build and can burn off calories easily. Also am a vegetarian, and end up eating lots of veggies and fruits as part of daily meals..so, am not very worried about health going down the drain..:) )
JFF question, how do all you moms indulge yourselves now and then? Small things? :))

we call that a backwards dinner! The kids love it...as do I!
My indulgence: a real soda, not diet. Very rare now, but sometimes just hits the spot.
a fresh pineapple....yummm
a cool room & a good book. Lots of pillows & the house to myself! & that will be happening in <5 hours!! Yes....
Chocolate anything, but especially mint chocolate chip ice cream....I have it after the kids are in bed so I don't have to share! Nothing ruins an indulgent food moment than being surrounded by kids with their mouths open like baby birds :o) hahaha
I often follow the "its 5 o'clock somewhere" Rule on the weekends ;-)
I love sweet potatoes but I usually eat them plain. Every once in a blue moon I will eat them as a 'dessert', topped with a teeny bit of butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
I love to endulge with a glass of cheap wine in a fancy wine glass in my PJs on the couch after the girls go to bed, and watch mindless TV. Perfect escapism. :)
Make breakfast for dinner. French toast or pancakes with breakfast sausage or bacon for dinner. No fruit just an over indulgence.
My hubby loves it when I bake for him, so every once in a while I'll make him something like a pie, bars, or cookies of some kind. Then, we both indulge for a few days until it's gone. It's a good thing I don't bake all the time!!
When I was young, sometimes our family of 5 would have a "backwards dinner." After a softball game, or during the summer if we played outside all the time, my parents would buy us ice cream, or we would make milkshakes, THEN have dinner! We did it about 3 or 4 times a year. It was so much fun!
I will have Ice Cream for breakfast.....I Started this morning off with a Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry ice cream sandwich....I have done this off and on now since I was sixteen.
Drove my mom nuts. Drives my hubby nuts now, too.
I have gotten very good at concealing it from the kids too:)
There is just something about ice cream first thing in the morning:)
last night i took the kids to cicis pizza buffet for dinner. so, i got to eat those warm cinnamon rolls and i didnt have to make dinner or do dishes. That's what I call indulgent.
General Foods International Coffee in the afternoon! I do this every few months. I call it "having a moment". LOL!
A milk chocolate Mocha from Caribou Coffee, with whipped cream! An afternoon dessert! Second choice is a Chai Tea Latte! Oh, and in the fall they have Pumpkin Lattes!
I don't drink coffee in the morning, and only occasionally in the afternoon, so that is one of my indulgences...
My kids and I always have had "Pie Breakfast" after any major holiday where we had pies, since I seldom make a pie any other time of the year. And when they were younger we had "junk night" where you could eat anythng you wanted about twice a year and we had "candy dinner" twice a year where you could eat only candy (they really never had much candy while growing up).
I rather give my son any sweet treats mid day vs right before bed! So, to me it makes sense.
I like to have half a glass of red wine (about 3 sips) and a dark choc (80%) square.
I had a suzie cue or however you spell it for breakfast today.
YUM
