Jeans for Mommy - Help!

I'm in need of some new jeans, but would rather not spend $200 on one pair. I'm a size 8 - 5'8" tall, and am having trouble finding a pair that is flattering and affordable.

I would like them to "fit" - not look boxy or baggy. Anyone favorites?

Thank you!!

What can I do next?

I have been told to get fitted at Buckle (in some malls) that they do an AMAZING job fitting you in a style perfect to you. The lady that told me this was so eager and excited....the jeans were like 70, but she said they were perfect so worth it.

I just tried on several styles from Kohls until I found the right fit. I also like my slacks from Target....I just take every different style until I find the style that works. When I can spend 70 on a pair; I will go to Buckle.

My daughter is 5'10" and has great luck with Victoria's Secret and Hollister, although Hollister is definitely more expensive.

I love the Daisy Fuentes jeans at Kohls. They are comfortable, affordable ($30-40 when not on sale), and are usually on sale! I have 5 or 6 pairs that I have bought over the last 3 years.

"Not Your Daughter's Jeans" are everything they are advertised to be. Although, they aren't cheap, they aren't quite $200.00. I usually spend around $100 for them and they are, to me, worth every penny. You can sometimes find them on sale at,of all places, Nordstrom's.

Good Luck!

"Not Your Daughter's Jeans" that Robbie suggested are great. I got some at Nordstrom Rack for about $70. My only problem with them is that the waist is just a tad too high for me, but since you are taller than I, they'll probably be ideal for you. I also tend to have luck with DKNY Jeans.

I've been happy with Lucky Jeans and J Crew from Allen Outlet. The first are under $100 and they sometimes have them at Costco and the others I paid about $30 on sale.

I get Gap jeans, the long and lean style. I am 5'9" so I know where you are coming from. I have worn them for the past 6 or so years and really dont buy anyother kind. The sell long in the store, and online the sell extra long which I order as well. They are anywhere from $65-$85 a pair.

I also adore Not Your Daughter's Jeans. I got my first pair for $110 at Cynthia Eliot in McKinney after I spent two days looking for jeans long enough for my legs (I'm 5'6", but I have a 32" inseam) that didn't stretch out too much, ride up my hiney, or fall down and show my booty. I was desperate for jeans, so I took the plunge. A year and change later, they are still my favorite pants, still look great, and worth every penny. They feel like sweats!

Fast forward...I had mentioned these to a friend who called me one day from Nordstrom Rack. She spotted them there and actually bought two pair and brought them to my house for me!!! They were $40 each, which is quite a bargain for well-made garments made in the USA!!! I went back a couple of weeks later, and they actually had black ones for $29.

The standard inseam is 33" on NYDJ, by the way.

I agree with the Buckle recomendation. I shop at the Collin Creek location and they are VERY helpful. I am 5.9 1/2 and have lots of luck with Lucky Brand jeans. I wear the "Wonder" style....they some in long and even extra long lengths. They are around $80 but not matter how many times you wash them they do not shrink. I have many pairs that I have had for years and they are still in GREAT condition. Good luck. By the way, if you ever decide to splurge on an expensive pair go to The Jean Connection on Northwest Hwy and the tollroad. There is a girl there with long straight hair that is FABULOUS at finding THE perfect jeans for you. She has me try on lots of pairs until we find the right ones. Good luck

My favorites are Guess and I get them at the Guess store at Northpark. I have spent about $100-$125 a pair BUT, I have had the same low rider fitted jeans for over 6 years. Roughly that is a little over $20/year so not bad on price.

I've tried jeans from other companies such as Bebe and Buckle but I keep going back to my all time favorites Guess. One exception is a pair of Levi's I bought from the little boys department. The waist fits me very well. I don't know te style you prefer but I wear low rise skinny jeans.

There is a Guess outlet in Allen, SOMETIMES they will have a few premium pair for sale vs the outlet store jeans.

Good luck and Happy Shopping
