Well after 2 years of trying with one misscarriage, my husband and I got another positive test this weekend. I am a Military spouse and was told by Darnell this morning that I had to go off post now for care and if I wanted to use Darnell then I would need a referall from my doctor off post to go on post. So needless to say I don't want Darnell and would like any advice on finding a good OB/GYN in the Killeen area.

Thank you in adavance for any advice.

So What Happened?

Well so I went to my PCM and he put in the referral for ob care. I am having to go to Darnell. I called my insurance and they said all I needed was a waiver and have my PCM put through another referral, but when I go to the service center to get the waiver they said that since I'm prime I have to go to Darnell, but if I wanted to drop down to Standard then I could go to any doctor I wanted with copays so needless to say, I'm sticking with Darnell. Thanks to all the advice on the care providers that you all have had. I wish I could have used one of them, but that's the Military Life I guess. Thanks again.

Count your blessings that you are being told to go off post to seek care!!! Darnall treats it's pregnant mom's as cattle and it's very annoying and nerve wracking.

Having said that, my of post OBGYN is EXCELLENT and is at Metroplex. They do not have an NICU atm, so if there is a problem at birth you are likely to be sent to Darnall or to Scott and White, but he is a great doc!!!

His name is Dr. William Luis and his number is ###-###-####. His nurse is nancy and the front desk woman are so incredibly kind...

While he did not see me through my pregnancy (Darnall did not allow off post pregnancy treatment back then - and believe me i tried) he is still responsible for my twins being here and for my recent hysterctomy to resolve long time female issues that I had been having.

I wish you luck!!! And, congratulations!! ;-)

I use Dr. Kemper in Killeen. He is Tricare approved. I am not having any more children, but he is great for all gynocology needs. I have a friend who had all 3 of her children using him and she swears by him as well. Good Luck and Congrats!

Dr. Louis Castellanos at the Scott and White Ob/Gyn clinic in Killeen is awesome. He delivered my daughter five years ago and I still see him. He is a great family friend as my mother used to be his nurse. I will tell you that the woman at the front desk leaves a little to be desired, but he is awesome.
