Have any of you had an Mirena IUD removed and had some strange reactions? Like major hormanal changes, almost pregnancy-like? Thanks.

What can I do next?

I had mine removed in March... I had two 'regular' cycles, 30 days apart. This month, a week before I was supposed to get my cycle, I had MAJOR PMS, worse than ever before IN MY LIFE (I'm not kidding!). When my cycle didn't arrive I thought, "Oh no, I CAN'T be pregnant NOW!" 10 days later, it came (Praise God!), but it only lasted for 3 days! I think it just takes a little while for your body to get readjusted and regulated to what its normal cycling is. However, the FIRST time I had my IUD removed (for a planned pregnancy), I got pregnant the FIRST TIME we tried, and though I had what I thought was a cycle, my Dr. said it was just spotting from the implantation on the uterus. So, you COULD be pregnant!

Yes, I had one of those removed in April. It threw me off for the first two months w/ painful periods & painful ovulating. I just felt all weird - but then I did get pregnant two months later. Take a home pregnancy test!

I had my Mirena IUD removed last year and my period slowed down again like it did before I had it. I thought I was pregnant several times but it turned out I wasn't. But still my periods are lighter like they were when I had the IUD. Hoping that does not change.

I had the Mirena taken out. Having it in was what was really causing me hormonal problems.
Once I got it out I quickly got back to myself.

I'm on my third Mirena IUD. The first two were removed to start trying for babies. I was pregnant in a week the first time and a month in a half the second. It is quite likely that you may be pregnant. If not, I would suggest you see your doctor anyway. Sometimes you need something like a birth control pill just to help stabilize your hormone levels.
