Does anyone out there use or have used an IUD, I'm especially looking at Paragard. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I'm using it, and I love it!

Haven't had any issues with it shifting. There was some cramping for the first couple of weeks, but it wasn't bad for me - but I've never had particularly bad cramping, anyway. I have been on the patch, the pill, and the shot, and I don't think I'll go back to chemical birth control after this!

I will have mine in for 2 yrs in november and I love it. The only issue I have is my periods are not always consistent. Sometimes ill start a week or 2 later than the previous month and I was like clock work before getting it?? But its so worth it! Im fertile myrtle and so far so good! I will say I did have a different experience with the insertion! I found it very painful and was so not expecting that! It caused me to have what literally felt like having labor pains! After about 2 days it stopped and I didn't have anything else like that. In the end, all worth it!

Yup, I have Mirena and couldn't be happier!! I even stopped getting my period a few months ago. I highly recommend it.

I had Paragard for about a week.

I was totally done having kids. So I had it put in - didn't hurt at all, no cramping...nothing.
But it slipped out of position in my uterus, and I freaked out thinking that it wasn't effective. (It was.)
So I had it taken out and went back on the pill because I knew that was effective for me.

I confirmed after the fact - with Paraguard - that as long as it's in, and not expelled, it's effective.

I've since has Essure done (love it!), but my brief experience with Paraguard was fine.
