My son is reading over my shoulder and asked me if there is a DadaPedia? And told me that Dad's need to have the same kind of place to ask manly questions and instead of sending flowers they could send bombs to the bad answers.....

I think we need a Dadapedia! And we mamas need to be able to send rotten eggs to the one's who need to be reminded to be nice.

What can I do next?

AWESOME!!!! My husband and I are laughing hysterically just thinking about it! (I let my husband use my account as it is, especially when I think his take would be beneficial, but that would be 10 times better!!!)

N.'s husband writes:
Conflicting pieces os advice on Daddy-pedia would be handled in the truest of manly fashion: Thunderdome! Two opinions enter: One Opinion leaves. Thsi is not to be confused with the Opinion Playoffs, when all the Thunderdome winners match up for the ultimate daddy advie. Highlander rules would apply here: There can be only one!

Yeah, that sounds wonderful for them....but could we moms/wives check in still from time to time to make sure that they're giving each other good information, instead of just passing along more bad info. I'm just picturing a bunch of guys sitting around discussing how often they should be entitled to sex when one goof ball says "every night" and then they all start to revolt....cause, ya know, they'll lock in on that ONE answer that they like.

@ Natalie's hubby: You should start your own site called "daddydome" or something. You'd get a zillion members! :)

Dads do get on here too and post questions and answers. They call it MAMApedia, but ANYONE can create an account, whether male or female, parent or not. People even post for their friends (but most psychologists would believe the advise is for them, not the friend).

There is a site for dads, though: http://www.greatdad.com/ There is a Fathers Forum, Featured Articles, Marketplace, Resource List, and lots more. Kinda like here, but not nearly as visited or used. (Same thing there too - moms/women can post, and there is even a place in the forum "For Moms Only" to chat about the dads.)

Yes there is. A woman who is a member of Mamapedia has a husband who started a Papapedia site. You can find it here: http://www.anatomystery.com/2010/02/papapedia/

And if you google Dadapedia there are others as well.

Actually my husband came home with some of his own information from "talking under the porch" at work. They talk too and they were all helping each other with their baby advice. I would ask, where are you getting this stuff and he would spout off one of the guys from work. He says they network too, but they talk instead of sitting on the computer.

It is not a bad idea though. I think Dads need a place to go for answers too. My only gripe would be that men don't like to ask for help. They like to be the fixers per say.
Your son is a VERY smart guy. :-)

Oh Mum4ever, that would be great! Maybe at least one man on here would talk to some men about sex instead of us.

Personally, I'd like to actually see more men weigh in on here. The way they tend to respond to issues can be quite different than how women do. Think about how men and women handle conflict differently - could be helpful to hear the other side especially when people ask relationship, marriage, or other questions.

And rotten eggs? No thanks...I mean, isn't it enough that people can already jab at each other through their responses? That's all we would need is for the anti-vax versus the vax, the bf versus formula, the AP versus CIO to be throwing rotten eggs back and forth because they simply don't agree with each others' opinions...
