Is Everything Okay with My Baby Am I Going to Have a Miscarriage?

I'll try to make this brief as possible, I'm 14 weeks pregnant and I'm still having slight spotting with sharp abdominal cramps. I was hospitalized for awhile but they said the baby is fine. I had a recent checkup with my doctor and I was told I had an infection to the mouth of my womb, I was given some vaginal supplement which I started to use last night. I woke up feeling drained this morning but I carried on my day feeling really exhaust. I had a lot of cramps during the day which I ignored since it's common but what startled me was seeing the medication coming back down with blood in it. I'm suppose to have another check up done in 2 weeks time with an ultrasound but I'm feeling so overwhelm. I keep feeling like my baby isn't going to make it this is my first pregnancy actually so I'm guessing it's maybe because of hormones triggering these emotional feelings.

What can I do next?

Welcome to Mamapedia. I don't blame you for feeling confused and worried. Early pregnancy is such a tough time. And there are all kinds of things like bleeding and cramping that can mean something bad, or just something annoying that will pass.

I do think you should call your doctor and not worry so much about waiting the 2 weeks for the next test/visit.

Yes, many pregnancies end in miscarriage. There are many reasons, and sometimes there are just no reasons that we ever know. But listen, no matter what, you are NOT causing this by worrying too much. Yes, your hormones are affecting your worries to some degree, but your symptoms are very real and they are so difficult to categorize (what caused what).

Call your doctor, and tell him/her you need to see a counselor familiar with pregnancy issues to help you through this difficult time. There are also massage therapists who specialize in pregnant women and who can help to ease some of your stress.

ETA: I"m sorry I missed the cramping and blood. You need to call your OB/GYN and most likely go to the ER. Take the medication with you and any other medication you are on.

Welcome to mamapedia, L.!

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Please stop stressing. I know it's hard, as someone who has had five pregnancies and 2 live births.

The doctors told you that the baby is fine. You MUST trust that.

STOP thinking negative thoughts. STOP!! Stressing. What is going to happen will happen. Stressing over something you cannot control will NOT help you.

Good luck!

If it were me, I'd call my OBGYN and see if I needed to go to the ER.

Best to you

I hope you went to the ER. I don't consider "lots of cramps" and blood normal. I hope everything turns out ok. My friend who had cramping during her pregnancy was put on bed rest. I did not have any cramping until the very end of my pregnancies which were Braxton Hicks contractions.
