Ipad 2 - Favorite Apps?

My husband is getting me an IPad 2 for my birthday. I am not much of a tech-head. I still have a flip phone!

So, what are the functions of the IPad you like most? What are your favorite apps? (BTW, the kids will not be allowed to play with this and I don't intend to use it for games.)

I currently have a Kindle, which I cannot use for library books. Can I download books from my local library onto the IPad?

Thanks!

What can I do next?

How fun! Happy Birthday! I got my Ipad 2 this year for my birthday from my husband too!

A couple apps I like outside of game apps are ibooks - its the book reader application for apple. You can purchase books, but there are quite a few free books out there. I'm not sure about whether you can download library books but you can get a amazon/kindle app. I also love the cozi application - Its a calendar application. You can use the calendar, to do lists and grocery lists. You can log into it as a family from an iphone or computer also. Lots of great features for staying organized. My next favorite application is the ABC app - it has shows in HD ready to watch. I also use the youtube application and then there are a couple different apps if you like to use facebook. I'm waiting for a mamapedia app. :)

My favorite thing for my iPad2 is the Zagg keyboard. It's not an app, but a regular keyboard. I like to use it like a computer (Iike I am now!) and the keyboard on the screen is hard to use. The Zagg keyboard doubles as a screen protector so you can bring it anywhere! I love how it props itself up and folds down flat. It was expensive, $100, but worth it!

Yes, you can download library books if your library has this option. Ours uses overdrive media console. This is one of my favorite uses for my iPad 2.
