Calling all moms in the desoto, cedar Hill, Duncanville area! I moved to Desoto about a month ago from the Ft. worth area. To my surprise, I could not find any mom's groups in the area? I looked on meetup and nothing offered here. I was wondering if anyone wanted to help start one. I was with one in far Ft. Worth area and I miss it. We had mom's night outs, cooked and babysat for moms on rotation, playgroups, etc. Being a mother is a full time job much less a SAHM is work.in addition to so many other hats we wear. Why not help each other along the journey... Anyone have any ideas??

What can I do next?

I have lived in Cedar Hill for 4 years and still have not connected any moms in this area. As a matter of fact, I have no weekly, monthly, or even yearly dates with my husband due to lack of childcare (we don't trust anyone, but have never talked to anyone either). This sounds like a great idea! I have no idea how it works? How do you plan on getting it started?

I am interested. I have been in DeSoto for 7 years and I only know a few moms. Let me know the details or any help you may need.

Check out http://www.momsclub.org/index.html
I was in the Mansfield Chapter for several years. Also, you could check out your local library to see if they have storytimes for kids. That is a great place to start meeting other mommies. Good luck!

I am in Duncanville and I would also be interested, although my situation is a bit different. My husband is the stay at home parent and I work FT. However, I want to connect with other moms in the area for "kid stuff" and for grown-up time as well.

What is the best way to go about this? I'm willing to help with anything that needs to be done.

I would be interested in joining a mother's group as well. We just relocated from the Denton area. I have two beautiful daughters aged two (soon 2 be three) and a 5 year old. I look forward meeting like minded individuals

I am not sure if it is too far away but we have an Early Childhood PTA group that meets in Waxahachie and has get-togethers throughout the month. Go to www.ececpta.org for more info.

I am interested. However I am a working mom but I have been in DeSoto for 5 years and I have not really connected with any moms. Let me know the details.

If you're interested, there is a mom's group on meetup.com called the Ellis County Mom's group. Everyone is really nice and they've got activities planned out. Check it out. http://playgroup.meetup.com/719/

There is a Cedar Hill Duncanville Early Childhood PTA. The website is www.CHDECPTA.org. We're nearing the end of the year and will be getting organized for next year in the next couple of months. It's become a very casual group, our focus is mostly playdates and Mom's Night Out and things like that.

If you do get your own mom's group together, I would love to be a part of it as well.

I've been in the Cedar Hill area since 2005 and have not connected with any moms either. I have three children 14,9, and 2. I rarely have or make time for me and would like to start, so a mom's group would be perfect.
Let me know! Maybe we can start by meeting at a local eating place or something???
