Does anybody know of a housekeeper in the Orange County area who doesnt charge a lot of money?
I dont want to pay much more than 25 dollars an hour. im a little flexible on that but it depends.
but heres the thing, we have cleaning products so they dont have to bring any, im sure that should cut on costs a bit!
and of course they have to speak english somewhat fluently so that i can communicate with them.

What can I do next?

I NEVER pay by the hour, as if I get someone who works slowly, then it could end up costing me a fortune. I pay by the job. My cleaning gal charges me $80 (depending on the size of the house) each visit and I have her come every 2 weeks. After having 3 kids, owning my own business AND homeschooling, there was very little time to deal with dust bunnies and bathrooms. I don't go to Starbucks daily or spend money frivelouslessly. Alicia does a great job and sometimes brings her husband Jaime (who also does gardening) to help her. I also supply all of the cleaning products and she commincates when she is running low on something.

I've used her for a few years and she does a great job...and honest. I have never had anything stolen or anything ruined. She quickly cleans my home, but throuroughly, and I get more time with my kids. Her English is ok, so I talk a bit slower and enunciate a bit more than I normally do - but I talk super fast. If she doesn't understand, she'll ask. I also like to practice my Spanish. She's on time and when she's here, she works hard and effeciently. She charges a bit more the first cleaning, as it is a deep cleaning, but worth every penny. Not sure if she travels up to Irvine, but it might be worth a phone call.

I went to my girlfriend's house who was paying her gal a TON more and I was shocked. She lollygagged, talked on her cell phone while she "worked" and I told her that I couldn't believe she put up with that. Her cleaning job was NOT nearly as good as Alicia's. She was paying her by the hour. ;) My friend fired her the next day.

I love my cleaning lady! She doesn't speak much english, but she and I seem to communicate well. I have a 4 bd/3ba house with a large kitchen, hard wood floors and a huge master bath. She doesn't do my kids bedrooms, but she does everything else and only charges me $75. I have found her to be very honest and reliable! If you are interested, email me and I will give you her phone number as I don't want to post it publicly.

I have a husband/wife team that I love! They are good, will work with what you need done, and charge reasonable rates. I have them come every week to clean and they do a great job (bathrooms, kitchen, dust, vacuum, mop, windows, patio) and are very friendly. Let me know where you are in Orange County and I can pass your info on to my cleaners or give you their number so you can chat with them.

OMG housekeepers charge more than 25 an hour?!? I always thought it would be nice to have; what kinds of things do they do?

We have a very nice housecleaner who usually brings her sister and sometimes her daughter. We pay about $100 every two weeks, and they can blitz our house (4 bedrooms, two stories, 2 1/2 baths) in about 3 hours usually. They are very nice and trustworthy. If we ask them to do something special like clean out the refrigerator, or wash some windows, they are happy to do that. We vary the special things, and usually they vacuum, mop floors (we are all tile downstairs and wood floors upstairs, with area Oriental rugs), clean kitchen and baths thoroughly, dust, etc. We don't have them change the beds.

She speaks good English. If you want her name and number, please contact me off list at ____@____.com. I think she would negotiate a price with you, depending on your house size and what you want done.
