So, I have read reviews on potty chairs and I havent been able to find a good one for boys. They either leak or the guard is too small. My son is only 1 and I am not planning on training yet but would like to get one in the house to get him familiar with it. I am clueless on which one (it was easy for my girls) but if I sit him on it I cant just say--"aim it down" So please with your experience can you tell me which one you used and if it had problems. Thanks so much!!!

What can I do next?

The BabyBorn potty is a great one for boys. It's a little more expensive, but worth every penny. It has a high guard, so you don't have to worry about any messes.

Good luck!

After going through several, we finally found the one in the Baby Bjourne (sp?) potty seat.

I'm with the others on the Bjorn. For some reason, my son likes the little tiny potty that stands on it's own better than the two-piece. So far so good for us!

The BEST one for boys is the baby Bjorn potty. It keeps the pee in and there are no crevises for the pee to hide. I have the 2 piece model which is easy to empty. I have tried a bunch and this worked the best for all the boys in my daycare!

L.,
Any potty chair will be okay if you use this one little trick. I work in a daycare and I saw my son's (he's 2) teacher put 2 square of toilet paper on his pee pee so that he wouldn't go all over. It works well until they learn to push it down themselves. Hope this helps!

Hi L.~

We purchased the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Potty Chair for our now 2 yr old. He sits on it and the gaurd is perfect for covering. It sings and talks, but my little guy is still skittish of that, so we keep it turned off. We bought it at Target, here is a link for it.

Hope that helps,

I dont have a boy-only girls, but I saw this urinal type potty thing from one step ahead. He may be a little young for it, but it still looks pretty cool-maybe check their website out. Good luck!!

We loved our Bjorn. I have a girl, but know several moms with boys who also give it a thumbs up. Good luck!

I have two boys and one girl. First of all, most boys take longer than girls. I learned the hard way not to teach them to stand until they were pooping regularly in the potty. I hurried my first one and had many accidents. I waited on my second and decided to do it and within a week he was regularly peeing on the potty. I just used one of those seats that sits on the potty. He was close to three already though. I think that any potty is ok. I would "push it down" for him at first. After a week or so he was willing to "push it down" himself. Sometimes he still squirts out. Sometimes he stands now (standing is great in public restrooms). For a little on like yours, esp. if you are going to try to train before he is 2, I think any potty chair is ok. I never used the guard - I found it awkward.

My son has a Thomas potty chair and he likes that just fine. There's not really a guard on it, but that's OK. He just "aims down" on his own.
