Recommend Potty Training Seats...

We have a baby Bjorn training toilet. Its great, no over spray or places in front for it to get in cracks. My son really likes it and it's easy for him to get on and off of and not catch him self on. We also tryed a different brand but found this one is great.

We had the same product and the same problem. We now use the base as a step stool and he stands on it to pee.
I put a plastic sticker in the toilet to give him something for aim. (He makes a mess with out the sticker) He likes standing better anyway because he likes going "just like Daddy".
I bought the Munchkin baseball Potty Seat for it just seemed more comfy than the 3 in 1 seat. And he really likes sitting on the ball to go. I think it was around $7.00 I know it comes in other sport themes. I think they have a diago one too. Target, and Walmart have them.
Good luck, and at least you will have it down pat for 3 month old!

We have good luck with Baby Bjorn potty seats. There are 2 kinds, one with a piece that you lift out to clean and one that is all one piece. The one piece one works really well for beginning the process and then we bought the bigger one too. They also make one that you can attach to the regular potty. You can find the potty seats at Babies R Us.

Hi S. i just read your post and i have told all of my friends about the "peter potty flushing urinal". It teaches the boys to stand to go potty. All of my friends love it. You can look at it on the wal-mart website. Hope this helps.

Just buy a step stool for the toilet that's already in your house.

We have the Bjorn potty seat and it works really well. Plus, the splash guard has no sharp edges on it so our little guy cannot scratch himself on it. It is between $25 and $30 at Babies-R-Us.

My son would not go to the bathroom by himself until we bought the Potty Pal toilet seat. He was deathly afraid that he was going to get flushed down the toilet (like in his Disney Movies). We bought it online from Target.com. I cost $25 I think. It has been a godsend for us! I highly recommend it!!

Just to let you know.. I'm running into the same problem I don't have the same potty but, I have an older version of the One step potty. So, sorry I don't really have any suggestions for you but, just wanted to let you know that you are not the only one that is going through it....

We taught our son to stand from the very beginning. When he had to go poop we used the Bjorn potty seat that fit on top of the toilet. It had a pee guard molded into the seat and it was made especially for boys, so it was more elongated. We purchased it at Burlington Coat Factory.

I think a lot of the potty seat are made the same. I just made my son tuck his peter in the whole while he was sitting, Becuase once he starts pooping he is going to have to tuck it in anyway. A really good idea to try if he only has to pee is to put cheerios in the potty and have him aim at them (they have a lot of fun with this!!). If he's pooping just have him tuck it in, once he gets used to it, get him the padded childs size seat ( that goes on the big potty) until he is comfortable with the big potty by itself. Some kids don't need the second part, but my son will be 4 in Oct. and is only about 29 lbs and always felt like he was going to fall in there. As for different potties i've only tried those two ( the winnie the pooh with the stool and sound flush and the padded seat). I really hope this helps.

I bought one of those 3-in-1 seats and ended up never using it. It was too much of a toy for my son and became more of a distraction than anything else. But he did really well with one of those rings that sit on the adult toilet seat. I picked ours up at Walmart and it came with a removable "shield" insert for boys. We ended up not using it, though, since it was easy enough for my son to simply lean forward. I think it was a huge benefit that he could use the same potty that he saw mommy and daddy using. Not to mention the added bonus of me not having to clean up any mess afterwards. He ended up being completely trained by two and a half.

The Baby Bjorn Potty Chair really worked well for our boy. He's big for his age too. I think you can get it at Babies R Us.

I haven't had the greatest luck with training potties. I had 2, but both of them leaked (or didn't catch the pee like with your son) when my sons used them. That can get really old, really fast. With both of my boys, I started off with them, but got so fed up. I ended up putting my kids on the regular toilet to use the restroom. I always put them on backwards facing the tank. Some people might think it strange, but that is the way they will face when standing up to pee. Also, many small kids feel unsafe sitting on the big toilet because they feel like they will fall in. There is no chance of that sitting the way I had my boys sit. My youngest, deciding to do it by himself, now stands up like a big boy to pee (obviously my 8 year old does too). It wasn't confusing to him at all. Also, if you use a potty chair and go over to someone's house without one, they are intimidated by the big toilet and you will probably have to use diapers constantly. One thing that is fun for them to do is to put a couple cheerios or fruit loops in the water as aiming targets. Then you can just flush them down! I also recommend the Baby Bjorn potty seat and a step stool! This potty seat fits on all toilets including oblong ones(which we have at home). It seems to have a bigger hole than those 3 in 1 potty chairs. It has a little lip at the front for boys that helps keep the pee in the toilet. Our son is 2 1/2 and sits to pee for now. He has learned to point his "pee pee(as we call it)" down so that the pee goes into the toilet. You can get this potty seat at Toys R Us. I haven't seen it anywhere else.
