In my town, Fedex has a very bad name. They dont deliver unless they have enough packages to make it worth their gas. Nothing comes on its delivery date. UPS is alway my pick for something like that (if there is an option)
if I called fed x and requested faster shipping and paid for it would they do it? Has anyone of you had to do this?
I am so stressed out my dress for our wedding reception needs to be here by 9/9/11 I am really starting to freak out!!!
I checked the tracking number and estimated delivery date it 9/13/11 and the reception is 9/10/11!!
I can not contact the company I bought it from as they have already released it to the shipper. So My question is has anyone been able to change their shipment after it was put in the shippers hands?
Any advise is greatly appreciated:)

Call Fed Ex immediately with your tracking number to see if they can intercept it in processing and upgrade to a different shipping method. Make sure to tell them it's a wedding dress - all of the shippers have a list of items (passports, wedding dresses, medicine) that they will try to treat differently if needed. You'll pay for the service, of course... but it's better than having no dress!
And then I'd call the company that shipped this to you and tell them just how displeased you are that they didn't pay attention to when your wedding is!

I'd get to the mall asap and look for a back-up dress.
Call them ASAP. they can work something out I think.
I worked for fedex freight for 9 yrs. You can call them and they most definetly upgrade to custom critical but its going to be expensive but if something happens and its not there the charges will be removed. Call them now so the can get it intercepted! Good luck!

once FEDEX has it - they can track it - however, I am thinking you can't change shipping mid-stream....
I've never tried to change shipping after it's already in the system...

Well good for you. I never would have guessed that such a thing could be done.
You might have a chance with Fed Ex...they track EVERY step of the way. Use your tracking number and their website and see how close it is to your home now. Their tracking is VERY specific.

Generally if it is released, it is beyond their control. A lot of times I get things faster than anticipated, but I'd be looking for Plan B at this point.
