Idream Interpretaton (Sorry a Little Gross)

Does anyne know anything about dream interpretation? The dreams I have are different but a common thing happens in them. I will have to go to the restroom in a public place. Usually the restroom is larger that in real life with lots of stalls. And they are always grossly dirty. One was like one I saw in Mexico. The was just a torn shower curtain and no door. Another had a worn out lawn chair with a hole in it rather than a normal toilet. Often although there are many stalls, they are all full. Last night the one I went into had very wet floors. I decided not to us it. But later I changed my mind and went in. The toilet had been removed and the floor was sealed over.
My husband thinks that because my mother always put a fear in me about "catching something" from a public toilet might have something to do with it. Any ideas?
TIA

I also have a similar dream. Always of dirty, disgusting public bathrooms. No doors, wet floor. Happens maybe once a month. Don't know what it means, but it is interesting that others dream of the same....

When we go to the bathroom in a dream -- the dream is about dumping or releasing negative memories or experiences from our life.
The fact that the restrooms are dirty may mean that you feel something in your life was extremely unpleasnt or dirty and you need to dump those emotions.
The many stalls could mean many issues to deal with or many people.
The toilet removed and the floor sealed up may represent the feeling that you are not ready to deal with all of your issues.
Water is cleansing --It is also healing. The wet floor may have been to help you heal and clean out your emotions. But you backed out not ready to face whatever is going on -- only to return to find another block.

They say that dreams have nothing to do with past experience, and everything to do with dumping useless information that the brain deems it needs to delete to make more room for more useless information. Sort of a detox. As far as interpretation it usually means nothing to do with the bathroom itself, but a certain fear or concern that nags you. Either it be embarrassment, anxiety, or phobia, that is anyone guess but going by different experts theories. I'd say you have an anxiety of missing something in your life, and that something else is getting in the way of the goal you set.
I used to and still do occasionally dream about loosing my teeth. I sometimes was happening every night. It never was the same dream but always it was something to do with loosing or swallowing teeth. It started bothering me, and then one of my close friends, sisters (IMO is a fruitcake) started to tell me it was due to feeling older, getting older, aging and the tooth swallowing was fear or repulsion of sex. I thought she was crazy. I started to doing research and every interpretive dream book said the same thing she did. I started believing it and I made conscious efforts to not think about getting older or dying so often. I also started having more sex. I dont know if that was the true issue or not, but the day I made he conscious effort to think about why I was dreaming it almost stopped them. Only once in a blue moon am I dreaming that. When it used to be almost every night. Start trying to analyze it, even if your wrong just tricking your brain into thinking your over that issue may make them stop.

need something rather desperately but can't have it / are being disallowed from having it from someone else.

I would guess is DOES stem from you being a child (the oversized bathrooms) and needing to go go go right now now now, and not being allowed to because of x, y, z.

That or it's 'just a cigar'... and you need to pee but you night time potty training is overriding the need. If so, you'll probably find yourself waking to pee in the middle of the night in the next few months or losing a lot of water weight in the next few weeks.

Not so strange. I ,too have this dream sometimes a few times a month. in my dreams, the bathrooms are always in huge, scary places.. like old , worn out institutions, like say a hospital.. other times, on school campus or in one dream in some shopping center that also had big hotels and I was looking for the bathroom... in the dreams, I am always creeped out by how messy the place is.. there is usually water all over and the floors have things sprawled on them. kinda like a hoarder dumps things there.. (mind you, my house is really uncluttered and bathroom , of course is super clean) .. :) However, according to something I read, bathrooms can represent us wanting to cleanse ourselves (as they are also used to bathe) and the water is suppose to represent our emotions...

I don't know what they really mean.. but I always awaken from those dreams feeling all weirded out...

I'm no dream interpreter but I think while youre asleep and you need to go pee you have this weird dream to wake you up so you'll get up and go to the bathroom......if it was a clean, calm, serene bathroom setting you just might find yourself wetting the bed.

Do you have fear of using a public restroom? Do you have to know where the restrooms are wherever you are? If so, you may be experiencing some anxiety in your life around it and your brain is working it out through your dreams. Are you ever able to change the end of the story? Or do you wake up before? Let us know more info so we can help :)

That is also a recurring dream that I get. It's interesting to say that your mom put that fear into you. My mom also did because of Mexico. I also watched Trainspotting and still have nightmares of that public restroom! I don't know what it means but maybe your husband is right. It's the way we were raised to be afraid of toilets. I cannot use port a potties and would rather "go" outside!

I randomly have the same kind of dream. Where I'm in a public place and the bathrooms are huge, none of the stalls have doors, sometimes not even walls...and they are always DISGUSTING!!! So I keep looking and looking for a clean toilet, never to find one. I finally googled it and found it on dreammoods.com. Just search "bathroom" or "dirty bathroom" and it comes up. I can't remember now what it means but it did make sense to me at the time. Good luck!!!

I have this dream all the time. It's simple, your body KNOWS it has to go to the bathroom while you're sleeping, but your subconcious mind comes up with a reason as to why you can't (no toilette, dirty, not private, etc.) whenever I've had this dream, I have to pee really bad when I wake up.

Simply, it is what happens when we need to use the bathroom and we are asleep. My mind, fortunately, comes up with reasons to not actually let go. In my dream I am going from rest room to rest room frantically looking for a clean private place to go. I finally wake up and go to my nice, clean, private toilet in my own home.

What happens if in the dream we find a toilet we can actually use? Most likely - you'll pee in your bed. It happened to me once as a young teen after I was given some pain medication and I was mortified enough that I have never forgotten the incident. Getting up and using the toilet was so REAL to me, yet it was a dream! 40 years later, I still check the solidity of the toilet and my awakeness before I let myself pee after getting up in the middle of the night.

Dreams are the processing of energy from the day before, ask yourself...
1. What did you do that day?
2. What were you feeling in the dream?
