I am on the lookout for some new boots. I have back problems and my left foot has a bunion and is wider than my right. I have been having trouble finding shoes that are comfortable and trendy. Any suggestions on a good boot?

What can I do next?

I love DSW for boots. I found the greatest pair there a few years back and they are still going strong. I have the same feet problem, and have a hard time finding any that are comfortable. These, are. Go and try on a bunch and see what you like.

If you have an REI near you they always have the nicest boots. They carry the higher end ones. You can order online as well but I think it would be better to try them on. LL Bean has some nice boots as well. I have a pair I love! They are my "go to" boots when it's cold and wet outside. I can comfortably do a day at Disneyland in them.

Comfortable is good.
Trendy is awful.
I go for function over fashion.
Probably not your style but these are great:

For actually keeping my feet warm when I'm out in snow some winter Muck Boots are wonderful and so comfortable.

There used to be a shoe store in the mall in Greece that made shoes to fit you. Sorry I can't remember their name. They took all your measurements, taking in account of any special needs you have. Then you pick a style you like and they made them to fit your feet.

When I get paid at the end of the month, I'm going to Claire's. They have fun holiday boots that are Ugg type. They come in silver sequins, gold sequins, and a funky leopard/silver sequin. I'm getting the silver ones. They are about $60. I, too, have 'bad' feet.

Once you have the boots you can take the left one to a cobbler to have it stretched. A high end shoe store may also stretche it for you.

Pick a pair that does not have a heel. Then go to "Whole Earth Provisions" and buy inserts that are best for your feet and put them in the boot. I also have back issues and I did this with a pair of Uggs (and Uggs normally have zero support). Voila..... comfy supportive shoes!

I have wider feet and I hate having my toes smooshed, so for shoes I only wear Keens, they look chuncky but I have never worn a more comfortable shoe. They sell them at places like REI, an while they may seem pricey I still have my first pair I got back in 2001 and they are still wearable. I have a total of 3 pairs I have been switching between for the past 10 years and they are all still in good shape, so they really hold up and last.

For winter boots I found a pair of red quilted Sorrels I absolutely love! They are very comfortable and give my arthritic knees decent support.

I have a bunion also and bought a pair of leather Ugg's last year that I loveeee. I did pay almost $200 for them but they will last for several years and don't hurt my feet. I've found the older i get the more I have to spend on quality shoes or else my feet are in pain after a few hours of wearing them.
