My sister-in-law just found something that she's getting my daughter for her birthday. It's called Aquadots. I haven't actually seen the product, but my girls love doing crafty things and anything new is always okay with them.
I could really use some ideas about what 8 year old girls like. (besides Hannah Montana and High school Musical) I have to get a birthday present for my niece and her mom is no help! Anything would help-
Thanks for all of your great suggestions. I went to Target and found her some really snuggly pajamas even though they had high school musical on them! I also got her a velour hoodie with a studded heart on it with matching velour yoga pants!

How about a kit for her to make her own jewelry? My niece loved those at that age. I picked them up at Michael's. Good luck!
I know this may sound "BORING" but have you ever thought of a savings bond? or money she can put in the bank to save for that something special. It would teach her the value or saving.
Good Luck

I work at a gym daycare and the girls that are about that age that come in really like Libby Lou's at the mall. I would get something from there or a gift card from there. Girls of all ages seem to like that place. Good Luck gift hunting!
Hi...if you don't mind spending about 30.00 for the gift, there is a DVD game called SCENE IT. My twins received this for their 7th Birthday and they loved it! this can be played alone, or with others, quite fun. They also have other games you can buy with differnt topics, the one my girls got was NICKoledeon trivia. They also received an additional game bought separte to go with this game called DISNEY SCENE it. Hope this helps :)
Try clothes or stuff from Justice For Girls maybe even a gift card from there. It's a girls clothing store that sells all kinds of cool clothes, accessories, movie stuff and things for their bedroom. Many little girls just love that store.

My daughter is 71/2 and so very much into Hannah Montana and HSM. So I agree with besides these things!! LOL, very annoying!! :)
We just bought a 9yr old a set of beads to make her own jewlery. Girls this age are into more crafts, music, games (like the game someone else listed), webkins are popular and jewlery. It all depends on her intrests. If Hannah and HSM was brought up then you could just go with things like jewlery, lotions or body sprays, just like the "big girls" on tv wear.
Just throwing out some suggestions!!

Sephora (the makeup paradise) even makes some nice girl products. There's lip gloss, perfumes, etc. especially designed for girls. Then there's also the yummy Whipped Delights (I think that's what the cremes called) that have scents such as marshmallow, lemon, pink grapefruit - they're back in the bath section - my son even loves them rubbed into his feet.
Definitely Webkinz! My daughter is 8 and that is always she ever wants to do is get on the computer and "play" with her Webkinz. She has three and still wants more.
I have an 8 year old and she loves Webkinz. They are stuffed animals you can buy them at Halmark, Limited Too or on line. Each stuffed animal comes with a code that you put in the computer on Webkinz.com. If she has a bunch of Webkinz already you can buy her clothes for the Webkinz or the webkinz bracelet and charms.
My daughter also loved Target gift cards!
Good luck!
You could always get her a Webkinz or 2. They are cute stuffed animals and they come with a code and you can play with them online. Build houses, feed and take care of them, earn money to purchase more items, dress them, ect. They are very popular.
Hi K.~
Maybe some cute jewelery or if she has pierced ears, some new earrings. I know Limited Too for clothes is popular (expensive though), gift certificates to the movies, or if she into a particular activity or sport, something that goes along with that. Also, Bath & Body Works has a line for girls that is nice....shampoos, lipgloss, lotions etc.
Hope these help!
I can understand your frustration. I have an 8 yr old and she is very hard to buy for, primarily b/c she doesn't need anything. I tell you what moms don't like their 8 yr old to have....more craft kits and science kits, I cringe when my daughter gets those, just more mess for mom to deal with. Also Bratz toys go right into the donation pile.
On to the good stuff: True, every 8 yr old has at least 5 Webkins already but more always seem to be a hit. As are the Webkins charms, trading cards and body products you can now buy. My daughter happens to like horses; Bella Sera cards (and the Bella Sera web site) are big right now. There are oodles of chapter books out there for all interests, my daughter likes the Rainbow Magic fairy series. Someone mentioned Bath and Body Works...they sell American Girl body products that would make a nice set. If she has an American Girl Doll, some products plus an AGD book would be good; there is a new series of cooking with your american girl doll kits out there, I have Kit's Cooking Studio(from Amazon) put away for the holidays for my daughter. Good luck!
