Girls like to dress up, play make up, something that makes us spell good, and maybe something that can be made for fun. Also, music.
Ok Moms, please help me out here. At my church we are assisting a needy family this Christmas and my assignment is a present for a 10yr old girl. I only have little ones so I have no CLUE what a girl wants that age. Can any of you that have kids that age help me with some ideas? Thank you so much!

I have always been fortunate with the rating system that Amazon has. Ask any mother of a 9 year old!
Maybe a beginner art set.
My daughter is 10 and here is her list.....gift card to Justice and/or Barnes and Nobles, cash, are you smarter than a 5th grader DS games, mp3 player, membership cards to club penguin (walmart, target, cvs, best buy), pet's eye view camera, eye clops mini projector, air drum sticks, mind flex, silly string, crossword puzzle ds game, imagine interior designer ds gam, crayola color explosion glow dome, gel pens, funny robot sidekicks.
I would get her a gift card to Walmart that way she can buy what she wants.
K. o,
I have a 10 year old granddaughter who keeps telling me that she wants some skinny legged jeans. She likes clothes and Hannah Montana.
Go to Justice for Girls!!! You will learn quickly what 10 year old girls like. LOL :) I have 4 girls and one boy, but my girls love that store. Make sure to find a coupon though because it can get costly. Hats off to you for helping someone in need.......Wish I could do that too!
First, they like to pick out their OWN clothes, so gift cards to go shopping would be popular. Earrings, fancy stationery or pens, books (try PJ Hoover's series at Book People), movie passes, American Girl dolls or clothing if she has the doll, DS video games if she has the DS unit, candy, 'tween hair accessories (headbands, clips, etc.) and 'tween make up, but mostly 'tween CLOTHES. Girls this age are starting to get super picky about what they'll wear, and they rarely get to shop for their own "style". My 2 daughters (8, 11) think shopping is the coolest thing ever.
Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, and Twilight.
Normally the family will provide some additional information to help with this. If they didn't, I would suggest calling your church office and asking for their assistance in obtaining this information.
10 yo girls are all over the place. Some are still playing with baby dolls and Barbie's, while others have moved onto the diary's and such. Some still like the childish songs while others are in love with the Jonas brothers.
Insted of tossing money away, I would see about getting some info from the family.
An MP3 Player loaded with fun songs...you can generally pick one up for around $30, maybe even less depending brand.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I would think anything with Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers would be great. Maybe even some cute nail polish, lip gloss, cute socks etc. I think a bunch of small things that she could use would be best.
I have nieces right in that age range and they LOVE that sort of stuff.
My daughter is 10 and she is asking for braclets,Littles Pet Shop, anything Jonas Brothers and board games and of course clothes.
Hi K....my daughter is 10 and likes Hello Kitty, Hannah Montana, art supplies, clothes, bracelets, Spongebob, Barbie dolls. You'd probably do well buying a gift card or the "Ugg" style boots are real popular right now if you know her shoe size. You can find some at WalMart or Old Navy for around $15.

What could be fun is a stocking stuffed with bubble baths, soaps, lip glosses (think lip smackers), books, hair stuff, coin purse, gloves/mittens, hat, fun socks, inexpensive bracelet, necklace, etc. with each item wrapped separately. It could make for a lot fun opening all those gifts.

I have an 8+ yr old granddaughter that loves Hello Kitty everything! She loves crafts to make bracelets. She still loves to color, draw and read. She also loves cabbage patch dolls, girlie clothes, hair items, nail polish and bubble bath stuff. Head to Dollar General and get some great bargains on games, too! Good luck!
Craft kits, and clothes :)
I have a 10 year old step daughter she is into games for her nintendo ds and ihome things for her ipod. She likes clothes, hair accessories, fashion jewelry, lotions, nail polish, and lip glosses...not grown up things, but not play make up for little ones either...things geared towards "tweens." She also likes watching shows on the disney channel, but won't wear the clothes with Hanna Montana on them, guess that is too kid like for her. She will however read the disney chapter books that are about high school musical, hanna montana, and the wizards of waverly place. They have those at walmart. She likes craft kits too and those craft kits made of foam. Also she likes music cds and dvds by the teens on the disney channel..Jonas Brothers, High School Musical, Hanna Montana, and Ashley Tisdale. She also still enjoys cards and board games.
I have a neice that just turned 10 and she really enjoys anything crafty. Beading, weaving, etc. I got her an outfit and a "BFF" (best friends forever) scrapbook and extra stickers for it. I found the scrapbook at target or $10 and it has some cool little quizzes and activities to do. Something that will preserve memories while still having fun with it.
Good Luck!
Alot of girls that age like sparkly flavored lip gloss/balm. They like nail polish or nail kits that they can make designs on their finger nails with, they have them in the kid area. They like kits to make jewelry, like friendship bracelets for example. They like packages of gel pens in cool colors and fun journals for them to write in. If you know the size they like pjs or fuzzy slippers. Most girls are super into Hannah Montana or the Jonas Brothers. Those are just a few ideas off the top of my head, hope it helps!!
