My daughter didn't want to be bothered by crawling really. Her ped said so long as she is using some method of trying to get around she was good. Rolling, army crawl etc all count as trying to get round.
My youngest is 9 months -man does it go fast. She is starting to pull herself up, and she is practicing getting her balance by letting go of things. But she doesn't crawls, she rolls. She has been doing this for a few weeks. I keep thinking she'll start crawling, but she doesn't. She sort of army crawls and rolls. It works, except for when it doesn't!
Did you have a roller? Did they ever crawl or just go to walking!

My roller did go on to crawl, but some don't. She is moving in her own way and that is just fine.
I heard that rollers are very, very smart. It is true for the people I know for sure.
The crawling stage was very short but did happen.
My son was a roller. Before he could crawl, he figured out that he could get where he wanted to be by rolling himself there. He eventually started crawling in the typical way, but it was hysterical to watch him roll across a room with that determined look on his face.
He was also an early walker (10 months).
Both my girls did the army crawl almost exclusively before walking.
And they both have AMAZING upper body strength, even as older kids and teenagers (in preschool they swung across those monkey bars as easily as if they were crossing the street.)
Way more so than my son, who crawled "normally."
When she's older sign her up for swim team and gymnastics, she'll probably thrive and excel :-)
My daughter, did that. Rolled all over the place. She was quite efficient.
Then she also army crawled though. Then got to crawling in the regular manner. And man, she could crawl fast!
It was funny.
Then she also started walking before she was 1 year old.
My older daughter never crawled. My cousin has six kids and 3 never crawled.
Oh Man.. I completely understand..
Our daughter skipped the crawling and was walking unassisted by 6 months.. She could hoist herself out of her crib by 10 months.. We got a crib tent and she could unzip it from the inside..
FYI, When people tell you, I am sure they will, that your child needs to crawl.. ask them how do you stop a child from walking, you cannot hold them back..
I had two rollers. I thought it was very inventive of them! Both started walking at the appropriate time.
Wow! I can't believe she's already nine months old! Where did the time go?
Cute description - never saw it before, but sounds cute!!
Mine started rolling at 2 weeks, and never stopped. Never got the baby honey moon where you can put them down safely on the floor and be pretty confident that they'll be safe with your back turned for a moment.
For the record, he started crawling at around 7 months, and walked just shy of his first birthday.
Enjoy your little girl.
F. B.
Lol, mine absolutely refused to use his knees. He did a funky scoot while he practiced walking and then just walked.
I had a roller, she did eventually start crawling at about 10 months, she was late to walk at 14 months, but she was my first.
