Talk with your doctor again. Endometriosis doesn't just form on the female organs. It also forms on the bladder, bowel and other areas. Having a hysterecotmy will not cure endometriosis. My sister had one a long time ago and she is still having surgeries to remove enodmetriosis.

One of my best friends had endo and after years of suffering the pain and on pain meds, she decided to have a hysterectomy. The recovery took about 6 weeks but she was doing great. She was her "old" self again and to me it was like I had my friend back. She says now she wishes that she had done this sooner. She was in her early forties.

I don't personally know about this, but my aunt had terribly painful periods due to endometriosis for years until two summers ago after she had a uterine ablasion. I am not sure if i am spelling it correctly, but basically what they do is put a catheter balloon into the uterus, expand it, and then heat it up, basically cauterizing the uterus. It is a relatively new treatment and she is basically sterile now, but she didn't have to get a hysterectomy, and she is VERY pleased with her decision.

Don't know if this will be of any help to you, good luck!

Seriously, if yo uare worried about hot flashes, yes there are a few until you get your hormone therapy just right, but when you do..... things are great.
No periods, no pain! I felt like a completely different person afterwards.... in the best way possible
