Has he done a sleep study? Both my husband and I have for various reasons - for me, I'm a horribly light sleeper and rarely go more than 4 hours at a time. My husband is a snorer, and I easily could have written your post.
Almost every night I do the leg kick repeatedly, ask him to roll onto his side, have tried special pillows, devices, Breathe Right strips, etc.
In his case, most of it is related to a broken nose in high school, being 50 lbs overweight and a deep sleeper - the sleep study showed nothing abnormal other than being a loud snorer (and I don't think he's all that bad).
I've kicked him out of the bed several times so I can sleep a little better.
Sometimes, taking a nasal steroid such as Rhinocort AQ has been helpful to open the nasal passages more. Usually, though, I make him wear 2 breathe right strips.
We sleep with a high-powered fan on as well in attempt to drain out a lot of noises that keep me awake, so I don't know if that would also help you.
Good luck! You are certainly not alone!
