Hi moms, Does anyone know how to get wallpaper border off. We tried peeling it off, but the sticky part is still on the wall. Do you think hot water would help? We just moved to another house and my daughter's room has a boy theme from the previous h/o.
Thank you, any advise will help.

What can I do next?

Hi there- If you put like a quarter cup of fabric softener in a warm water spray botttle and then spray it til its wet it should come right off. This worked perfectly for us. Good luck!

FABRIC SOFTENER. I second that!! It works. Dilute with some water...sponge on top of the wallpaper (really soak it actually)...give it a few minutes time...THEN...Peel it off it works wonders!!!! Good luck.

I removed a whole houseful of wallpaper borders with super hot water, a spray bottle, and metal scraper. It was very easy. Just give the hot water a few seconds to work it's magic before taking the scraper to it. Also, be careful to stay level with the wall. If you go too deep you'll damage the surface.

Go to Home Depot, Wal-Mart or any hardware store or store that sells wallpaper, and they have a spray specifically to take paper off walls. Not expensive, works great, just spray and after 3 minutes it peels right off!

The solution of one part water and one part fabric softener in a spray bottle really works well.
Just saturate the wall paper and let it sit for a few minutes before scraping it off with a putty knife or something similar. Be sure to cover your carpets along the wall with dry towels so the solution doesn't create a dripping mess on the floor. This method works better and is cheaper than any other!
