I tried to use carpet cleaner with a wet vac...I stopped smelling but did nothing for the stains. Hopefully someone out their has some great advise I could use too. I have a pillow top mattress, so it can't just be flipped over. Good luck.
Help Mama's!
My toddler had an accident in her bed early this morning. She peed on the bed. We have one of those bed toppers/liners for potty training and has worked for 8 months now. It works great, so, if or when she has an accident, we can just wash the liner and the fitted sheet is still dry. Well, it shifted about 2 inches away from her and went pee on it, but a lot went through the fitted sheet and onto the mattress. What is the best way to clean this?? I have tried to soak up what i can with a towel?? Disnfectent Spray? Help? How can I avoid it from smelling? Eewh!

You could try to use the hose attachment from a carpet shampooer or just let it air dry. Our son got our mattress a few times and it never smelled.
To avoid this next time, get on of those plastic mattress protectors from walmart that either fit over top the bed like a fitted sheet or pay a little more and get one that the whole mattress goes in. I used that for my daughter's bed and her mattress 9yrs later still looks brand new and now her 3yr old brother has it with a new protector on it for him. Best 15 bucks you'll spend for a bed with a toddler!!

I use my carpet steam cleaner and just add a little Clorox Bleach Cleaner. You can always go back over it with just hot water afterwards. You can purchase one at Big Lots for a really good price.

i haven't checked your other responses, so this may be a repeat...
go either to a grocery store or a pet store and buy a product for removing pet-accident odor. i've used two - one is called nature's miracle, and i can't remember the name of the other. but they work quite well. both the ones i've used have to be applied (one is sprayed, one is squirted/poured) and then allowed to completely air-dry for up to 48 hours, but it is well worth it to get that smell out!
:)
I've always heard that baking soda will help absorb the moisture and knock out the smell as well.
Good luck!
Our experience with our potty training toddlers was that just letting is air dry took care of it. We didn't have any problem with smell.
I work for a guy who sells waterproof mattress covers on eBay. The entire top of the cover is waterproof, so you don't have to worry about slippage. It's www.stores.ebay.com/ptidirect1 if you're interested.
Good luck!
If you can keep her out of her bedroom, I would sprinkle baking soda on the wet spot. It will help absorb some of he moisture and also leave it clean smelling.
I have used my carpet cleaner on my daughters mattress when she did this and just let it dry, it seems to have worked, no smell and no stain.
Go to PetSmart and pick up a bottle of the Urine remover. I think it's called Urine B Gone. Just follow the direcdtions and it should be fine. YOu can later spray with FeBreeze if you think it needs it. V.
you could try vinegar or baking soda to deodorize the spot or odoban spray carried by lots of stores
I have pets too...so accidents are just par for the course around here. I initially stand on a diaper....those things can really hold the wetness and standing pushes the moisture into the diaper. Or sit on it....weight it somehow. You get the idea. THEN you can use any number of really fancy and expensive cleaners (purchased in the pet section of any super-store....) BUT I use plain old rubbing alcohol to remove those smells. I think it is REALLY effective. It is best to catch it right away....but I think it will even work later on.
I used a product that contains tee tree oil on my linoleum floor when my dogs urinated on it. Tee tree oil is a stain remover, a cleaner and a deodorizer.
