A bunch of my friends & I are going out to dinner for New Year's Eve!!!!!! We're planning on leaving a sitter with 5 kids ages 1-4. We're thinking of paying her $25/hr. Sound fair?

What can I do next?

Since that only comes to $5/hour, I would make it a bit more. Maybe $35/hour. There's alot of kids for her to entertain. Have fun!

$25/hour sounds good, but I would also say that depending on the age/experience of the sitter, you might want to have 2 bodies there - its a lot of kids! (unless you're going to put some down to bed before you even leave for the night).

How old is the sitter?
That is a lot of kids for 1 teenager, if that is the case. She /he may want to bring some help along.
I think 25 is a good number. It only is 5 bucks an hour, though, between a bunch of you. You may want to get a nice fat tip in there for the sitter also. It is a holiday night. My daughter watches kids on New Years Eve, (only 2) and makes about 100.00 for the night.
Happy Holidays

More definitely. If you were working, you'd get time and a half or double time. A sitter should get the same. Especially for 5 kids!!!
