I know even when my 4 boys were at that age it was a quarter. But it's now 1 to 2 dollars a tooth. My 5 yr old nephew lost his first tooth and got $5.00 for it being his first.
Okay, so it's been a while since the fairy visited my house, so I'm sort of out of the loop. My 7 yo ds FINALLY has a very loose tooth. The going rate was a quarter when I was a child so I'm taking an informal poll to see if the tooth fairy has changed with inflation...
Thanks
L.
Well, my son's tooth fell out yesterday and the most generous (and beautiful hee, hee)fairy brought him $5. She whispered in my ear that the next tooth would yield $1. Thanks all for your feedback.

We give a gold dollar coin. Our kids think it's such a big deal because it is gold!
The tooth fairy has been bringing different types of money to our house. A $2 bill, a gold dollar, a silver dollar. I went out and bought a set of coins from her birth year that she will get for a future tooth. She is collecting her special money from the tooth fairy in a little box.
My sister-in-law kept harrassing us that the first few teeth should be worth $20 a piece.
I remember when i was a kid that my parents gave me and my siblings a silver dollar. We thought it was very special infact we always sold them to my dad for his collection of silver dollars.. come to find out my parents used the same silver dollar for all 3 of us kids. we always sold it back to them for like a buck. It was a tradition and now my older sister has it for her kids. A special coin is very exicting for kids. For my kids i left a dollar even when my daughter left a note under her pillow cause she lost her tooth down the sink at school.... lol
The toothfairy brings $1 to our house. I work in a school and that seems to be the going rate around here. :)
We do $5.00 for the first tooth and then a $1.00 for the rest of them....
Hi L.,
My daugter has is 6 today and have lost 2 teeth thus far. The tooth fairy brings her $2.00 per tooth. She was talking to a friend that was here about a week ago who lost a tooth and luckily the tooth fairy brought her $2.00 also.
Hope that helps

The tooth fairy gave my daughter $ 5.00 for the first tooth, then $ 1.00 for all the additional. We also had to do some bribing for the first 2 to actually get them out of her mouth so that she didn't go to sleep with a very loose tooth.
Good Luck
My niece and nephew now get 1.00 per tooth... When my children were younger it was 50 cents.
I gave my daughter (who is now almost 16) a gold dollar for each tooth. That is also what I plan on giving my triplets who are 5 when they start losing teeth. I have already begun to collect the gold dollars.
my kids all get five for the first one then two buck there after
I'd say a one dollar would be good. Maybe more for the first one. I have a neighbor that just gave her kid $10 a tooth!!! I about fell over when he told me what he got. Good luck!
