Unless it's homemade, jelly and jam have enough preservatives to keep it fresh on the shelf for eons.
How long is too long to keep the jelly out on counter??
LOL
I just remembered that I forgot to put the jelly away from making son's lunch. It should still be ok right??

I just read the subject line, and thought you were talking about my MIL's impending visit, so my original answer was 2 hours.
But since you're talking about jelly, 4 hours is not a problem.
Fine! (Assuming this is TODAY's lunch? LOL)
Should be just fine. I will use it until there's fuzz growing. : )
Sugar is a natural preservative. It would be fine if you accidentally left it all weekend. Just put it in the fridge when you get home. :o)
I think it would be okay unless someone has ever licked the knife/spoon and put it back into the jar. Then I would definitely pitch it.
I grew up with it being out on the counter along side the butter and not I put them both in the fridge! So along with the others I think you will be fine! I just read you should put the peanutbutter in the fridge also and I refuse to do that it makes it hard and yukkie! LOL
I know a lot of people who do not refrigerate their jelly at all. We did that when we were kids and so did my gramma, just kept it in the pantry. I refrigerate it now, for some reason. I think my husband put it in the frig when we were married and we just kept doing it. I wouldn't stress about it. Unless it's absolutely pure, fresh fruit then don't worry about it.

Definitely will be ok. Been there myself. LOL
I think it would be fine :)
